Pleasantly surprised !! For $25 shelves, it’s obvious this will not be a ‘forever’ piece of furniture - but that being said, I found it very straightforward to put together - directions were clear when needed - had all pieces, and they were all sized well. I actually wanted it to be a little shorter too, so I didn’t put the last shelf on - and that was not a problem. You could easily size/shorten into several sets of shelves. Anyhow - I’m buying another today… going to make it 3 shelves also… and then take the leftover 2 that I will have from both of the purchases & make a final/third shirt set. There was so much potential for this bookshelf and every time I’ve tried building it, it gets worse and worse. The photo I added was the next morning after I re-built it and tried making it neat. I bought this for my college dorm and planned on building it when I got here (about a month after purchasing it, meaning I couldn’t return it if it was bad). Most, if not all, of the pole ends do not fit into the connectors and makes it nearly impossible to properly build. If you try forcing it in, it skews the entire bookshelf structure. I think if one side of the poles’ ends weren’t rounded the way they were (I’m not sure how to describe it, but one side was clean-cut and the other side you could tell was melded for its cut off) this would’ve been a 5-star because of how easy it would be to build. I don’t say this often, I don’t even do reviews unless the product was TRULY that bad or good… but, don’t get this shelf. There’s better ones that require less work and better stability in general. Especially for dorms- I got one that has nice looking wood shelves and just twistable poles. ... show more

When it arrived I had some serious doubts, the material looked flimsy and it was very lightweight. Rods weren’t fitting properly into the brackets and I was about to give up when I read that a hammer or mallet helps and it saved this project! I was able to assemble it quickly after that. When adding the long tarp that curves around be sure to add the vertical rod in the back right corner last. You may need to adjust the length by hammering it inwards from both ends first. Works really well to store my larger plush and I may go back for one or two more of these and add fairy lights for an extra flair. ... show more

This was truly the cheapest quality items I have ever bought on Amazon. They claim the rods are made from steel but I was afraid they would bend with too much pressure to fit them into the cheapest of plastic side connectors. The plastic holes for the rods were sometimes loose enough for the rods to just fall out and some were tight enough that the plastic would turn white from stress fitting the rods in. The shelves are just plastic as thin as paper so dont expect to stand anything up on it. The entire thing could be brought down with a good sized dictionary or 2-3 encyclopedias at most. ... show more
