  • Great Pedal
Pattern Name: Pedal
Dreamy chorus sounds.

  • A decent chorus with some weirdness
Pattern Name: Pedal
I like this chorus on my board although its kind of a pedal that does one thing and the knobs don't do much. The depth knob doesn't affect modulation like other choruses I've used. Not that its a huge problem since high depth on chorus tends to sound ridiculous, but this pedal seems to be going for subtlety as I have to max the depth to get the chorus to affect the input nicely. Kind of strange. Once its dialed its great, but there are probably better chorus pedals out there with more control and variety. ... show more

  • Pedal Before the Amp
Pattern Name: Pedal
I initially gave this pedal a 2 star because when you put it into the fx loop, the volume goes down significantly. Contrary to common wisdom, this modulation pedal works much better before gain or distortion. Not only the volume won't go down, but the headroom and overall quality will improve dramatically. I wonder if it's because analog pedals were designed before fx loop became a thing. Before I had my eyes set on this pedal I had sampled many chorus pedals, analog or digital. I eventually went with this one because this gives you the tone your "guitar heroes" once used. You almost can't put "organic sounding" and "chorus pedal" in the same sentence, but with the MXR you can. Perhaps if you are an ambient guitar player this is not a great option, but otherwise, this is likely the best sounding chorus pedal out there. ... show more

  • Good price, warm rich chorus
Pattern Name: Pedal
This pedal has a great range of function (with variable width and depth) along with an independent level control, and tone controls for low and high frequency cutoffs. It also has a dry through output. It can go from low depth high speed shimmers, to high depth, low speed oscillations, to ridiculous warble. The pedal is light weight, very high quality, durable, quite good looking, and all around a good pedal to play around with. Cons: The blue led, like many blue leds, is VERY bright; I usually cover them up with a sticker so I can see the setting on the pedal. It can also be easy to accidentally touch the pedal casing with the positive barrel of when plugging in (this can frighteningly spark). So make sure to plug in the power adapted into the pedal before plugging in the wall. ... show more

  • Great for stereo
Pattern Name: Pedal
Sounds awesome with two amps! Great with stereo delay too. Huge, lush sound feels only minimally processed. Minus one star for very minor, yet still-there, signal drop and sliiiight tone change. I wouldnt call this pedal transparent or icy but it is warm, crisp, and lush. I'm a chorus junkie weaned on 80's and 90's rock tones and while it's not on all the time, for plucked jazz chords or OD lead tones or arpeggios or... Whatever you need chorus on, this one smokes the current BOSS choruses. I didnt try digitech or tc electronic, etc, because I wanted real-deal analog and all that comes with it good or bad. (I am aware the current boss stuff is digital as well...) ... show more

  • Great pedal for livening up your clean
Pattern Name: Pedal
I originally purchased this pedal to keep on with my "Flashback" delay pedal while I did swells and other ambient sounds. It is a great deal for what you get. However, it is not as good at making ambiance as a "Cloud 9" or a "Corona Chorus". The price however, is simply too good to pass up if you have never owned a chorus pedal before. It is definitely professional grade. However discrete it may be, it will liven up your cleans for a warm solo or a lighthearted clean rhythm. I plan on purchasing another chorus pedal down the road, but I am currently very happy with this pedal and will always keep it on one of my boards. Its built like a tank and people know you have good taste when they see this guy on your board. Very small foot print, and there is definitely a wide range of options for your sound with the five knobs. Great decision to buy regardless. Its very musical. ... show more

  • Not great, but very good.
Pattern Name: Pedal
This is a solid chorus pedal with nice control options. You can dial in a subtle effect or pipe out watery sounding craziness. I've heard very expensive chorus pedals that both do and don't sound better than this one. If you're in the market for a solid pedal without breaking the bank you would be hard pressed to find another option that's significantly better. I like this pedal, but I don't love it. It's good enough to get the job done and for the price I'm happy enough with it that I'm not going to keep shopping. ... show more

  • I still don’t know everything this box can do
Pattern Name: Pedal
I spilled a drink on my MXR Micro Chorus and blew it out, and it turned out to be a great thing. Because I never really knew what a legit chorus pedal could do for my sound. The Micro is SO limited, I never really used it because the only available settings were too pronounced. With the Analog, I can get sounds that are subtle and give me just the right amount of color to differentiate one song from another. Or one lead from another. Or whatever the hell I want. The range of options is truly unbelievable, and the tone/sound/feel makes this one of the best pedals i’ve Ever bought. ... show more
