Does what it's supposed to. I purchased a used cymbal and broken cymbal stand from a local store. Needed to fix this and with this part, and it worked. The pieces were REALLY fixed together when I got it. It took quite a bit of force to loosen one of the parts - so much so that I thought mine accidentally got welded together or something, but I eventually got it, once I realized I didn't need to be afraid of using excessive force, as this thing is quite sturdy.
