I don't know how else to explain it but I get itchy ears. I live in a super hot desert climate, and I wear headphones for the majority of my day. So the insides of my ears seem to sweat or something. I'm constantly going at them with q-tips just to scratch the itches lol. And I don't like the economic and environmental impact of disposable thingies. So I saw these on sale, and grabbed them. They are great. I'm very very careful with them, of course you are not supposed to stick things in your ears because you could puncture your eardrum and all that. I usually wet a cotton ball with rubbing alcohol, and then use the large scoopy scraper thing to scratch against the insides of my ears, and wipe it on the cotton ball to clean it. I will say in a way it's a bit of a too much of a good thing in that there's more tool types than I really needed. Also, if you hate that wet-ear feeling you get when getting out of the shower, I'd combine these with another reusable ear cleaning tool that is actually shaped like a q-tip for trying to absorb the water in your ears since these won't fill that function. The only problem I'd have with this kit is that the particular tool with the spring on the end, which broke instantly after earwax build-up inside of it made it nonfunctional, when cleaning it I ended up breaking it. Ultimately, all of the other tools do its job better and are actually cleanable.

I love these guys. They work so well. My only complaint is that sometimes it’s a little rough if my ears are sensitive from allergies or being sick. If they were coated in silicone that might have taken the irritation away at that time. Either way, I still use them almost daily and I don’t plan to stop! ... show more

"Nothing stick anything smaller than your elbow into your ear." Sounds sound, and yet we do... I used a pistol borescope, inserted into my ear to perhaps see why I suddenly couldn't hear so well. Seems a glacier sized lump of dried blood from a recent bleeding of the ear, (not caused by any known reason) wanted to further exit. Soapy water, olive & avocado oils haven't done the trick; I've always wanted a tool to jam in there, to scratch an itch, do some scraping, whatever; so here's this affordable set of ear exploratory tools I couldn't resist. If only accompanying instructions were a tad bit more (may, a LOT more comprehensive, I'd be hearing like a jackrabbit & not thinking about the sludge in the canal. So as a result of wearing ear buds 8 hours a day for almost 2 years, I was so sensitive that I developed contact dermatitis. My ears itch so badly and I'm constantly pulling flakes out of them. At first I was using whatever sharp object is around to scratch, but that can be unsafe and not satisfying. So I ordered this kit and O.M.G. The absolute, lasting relief is life changing. UPDATE: After a few months I've decided these are way too small for human ears. With a lot of scraping in the ear and then wiping the tool and then scraping again, you can get your ears clean eventually. But a bigger tool could do it much faster and easier. Maybe these are made for hummingbirds? The basic idea is good. I hope they will make a set of human sized tools some day. The case is very hard to open. I filed the latch down with a nail file and now it's easier. Several tools seem to duplicate others and could be eliminated. The included brush doesn't help to clean the tools- a cloth is better. I still use cotton swabs some times for better results (like after a shower). PREVIOUS: I've wanted something like this for hundreds of years! I was warned never to put anything in your ears but your elbows, especially those cotton swabs. Now I have lots of things to stick in there. I'm always careful not to let these tools come out the other ear. The black is a nice color compared to the other metal devices. You can feel the weight of them- these aren't plastic. So far they are working well for me. They aren't the absolute cheapest, but this set includes a loop device which I think will be helpful, and some other sets didn't have that.
