When I opened this up I was very excited. I feel like for how much I paid I really got a great deal. The packing is good, pretty cool Japanese quality stamina on the box. The carb itself is very well machined and manufactured. The slide is nice, the casting is clean, all parts have inspection marks. I ended up using this on my Honda GX160 (it’s been modified). After getting some fuel in the bowl, it fired up quickly. This carb is easy to tune using the available adjustments. The clear bowl adds some flare and style to my mini bike engine. Overall very pleased with this carb. I can’t tell much of a performance boost as I was already using a performance VM22 carb. I like the adjustments, style and price more on this carb. ... show more

I have used keihin pj, pwk , pwk A.S etc etc carbs for 20+ years and thought hmmm why not try a 38mm pwk A.S on a old RMX250 I’m restoring and I’ll have to say it that it came in a oem suduco/keihin carb box, the carb had the stampings and #’s associated with a genuine keihin and had keihin right on the side along with the bowl stickers that as far as I know only suduco puts on and so I tore it down and compared to another pwk I had aside of it being 35mm the parts were exact as the genuine pwk . So I measured the bore , it was spot on , and so on ,,, except the needle . Was more of a toothpick but hey I would swap needles all day for a 45$ pwk . Long story short ….. The carb works flawlessly and all I did was swap the needle and install a bigger main jet and POW!!!! Starts one kick , idles perfectly, pulls smoothly throughout the entire power range and works great weather it’s 40 degrees or 75 degrees. ... show more

Haven’t ran it yet but the quality compared to the pwk42 is outstanding. The pwk42 mm is absolute trash quality compared to this 40mm. Would buy again. I purchased the 40 and the 42 (came with the velocity stack and a coupler which was nice so I used them on the 40mm.

Have a 1977 Honda MR175 that wasn't running right. Bogged out in 1/4 and 1/2 throttle, and low power on full throttle. OEM carb, and parts are extremely hard to find for that model bike. Bought this on a recommendation from a vintage Honda group on Facebook. Just finished installing and went for a ride. Wow!!! The bike is scary fast now. Front tire came off the ground in every gear. Install took about 45 minutes, and that was only because the air filter boot was really tight on the carb. Otherwise I would've had it on in 20 minutes. Feels like I'm riding a 250. So much power. The test trail I use I was always in 5th gear. I was hovering around 3rd and 4th the whole time. Would 100% buy again. ... show more

This is a second carburetor 38MM that seems to have the same problem. From 3/4 to 100% throttle position the engine is starving or simply no fuel at all is being supplied to the engine. I tried everything from jetting and needle setting, nothing seems to make any real change for the problem. I even tried applying the carb choking that seemed to make the problem even worse. Returning the throttle back to 3/4 to idle is okay. I installed my old carburetors which is OEM but this problem is only happening to this POS Carburetors.     • Work great right out of the box but some issues

I purchased this carb and a $120 nibbi. After installing both of them and comparing them there was almost no difference they both ran great right out of the box and I could not notice any difference in performance between the two . About a week later after riding around for about 15 minutes I stopped at the store and noticed that gas is flowing out of the overflow tube and out the end of my air filter. After some tinkering I was able to get home. Next day it was fine . Yesterday i went gor a ride and it’s still happening. I’m giving 3 stars because the fit and finish of the carb is good and right out of the box it runs great but now I am wishing I had just stuck with the nibbi because anytime I go somewhere I’m worried that this will happen. I don’t know if anyone else is having this issue or not . Other than that the carb looks great runs great and definitely competes with the nibbi in performance. I would appreciate it if the manufacturer sent me the part to fix it . ... show more
