This air cleaner Is fantastic!! I use it in my small barn for my goats. I use sawdust bedding and hay which causes a lot of dust. This thing sucks up the dust so well ! It has an Auto setting which allows it to monitor the dust itself, and it does a great job! The moment I pull hay out to feed the goats the auto setting increases it's speed to suck up the dust. Every time my goats play it increases it's speed to suck up the dust, and everytime I clean the barn it increases it's speed to remove the dust. It is very quiet. I was skeptical of this when I bought it, but considering the overall lack of reviews on this product, I thought I'd give it a try. I've been most impressed so far! The power the unit has is perfect for our 32x30 workspace. Even when it ramps up to a high speed during sanding operations, it's very quiet for a ceiling-mounted filter. Most units I've seen are easily twice as loud as this one including the older Jet units. I highly recommend this if you're looking for a dust filter for a small shop. ... show more

    • Good overall air filtration system, not as loud as the metal units.
This is pretty good overall, i like the remote control functionality. My only real issues with it is the interference it causes. I wasn't sure at first but after letting the AFS sit in standby mode the wireless internet and even my remote control for the garage door was having issues... I turn the AFS OFF completely and the problems go away.... So i just leave it in OFF mode until i'm planning to use it... Minus a start for this and minus a star for the price, it's too expensive for what it is... ... show more

    • Love it overall, but do have one complaint… and one weird thing.
I bought this product roughly a month ago and have used the air filter nearly every day since installation. This model lives up to the marketing hype. Just for reference, I have a small (think 2 1/2 car garage size) wood shop and I am coming from that big rectangular 3-speed model marketed under dozens of brand names (Jet, Laguna, Rikon, etc.). Had mine for 14yrs and it finally quit working. I never liked how noisy it was. This new 5-speed Jet model is whisper quiet at the lowest speed and probably still more quiet than my old one on “low”. The timer is great. If I set it for 10hrs then it shuts off after I leave, continuing to pull the fine dust from the air that was kicked up by my moving around. Installation was easier than the model it replaced. There is not much to grab ahold of when you are lifting it overhead, but it is much lighter than what it replaced. Now for **The Weird Thing**… the way the top is molded, there’s a large and deep “pocket” on top. This is definitely an area for airborne dust to collect. I can see this having measurable accumulation in a couple of years. Now, for the thing I HATE about the product… the filters are NOT sized as claimed. I fully understand the concept of “nominal sizing”, but the dust collector opening is too small to accommodate other 12”x24”x1” filters. Opening is closer to 11 1/2” x 23 1/2”. I’ve tried a few different major brands and they are all too big to fit the air filter. Overall, great product. That %!*?# filter size though! ... show more

    • Broke and bad service
Purchased 3 for my shop. Two run fine. But the motherboard on the 3rd one died within 2-3 weeks of use and the machine would not turn on. I tried to contact JPW Industries customer service through email but they did not respond for over a month (I tried calling in the mean time, but I was on hold for well over 3 hours and gave up). When they finally contacted me, instead of replacing the broken machine, they said they will ship me a new motherboard in ~120 days. So I will have to wait 5 months to have a working product again. So, if you're feeling lucky that it wont break, go ahead and buy it. But if it breaks, SOL ... show more

    • So far I'm happy with it.
I added this to augment my dust collection when I renovated my shop. It's very quiet compared to others I've been around and it was light enough for me to hang from the ceiling by myself. I like the timer, the automatic sensing, and it seems to do a good job.
