  • Love these brushes
Color: Blushing Bride
I love these brushes! I have another pair in the black color that’s for my makeup bag so i decided to get another pair in pink that matches my room and can be on my desk that I can use! I’ve been using these brushes for around a year and a half now and I’ll always repurchase these. 100% my favorite brand of brush, it’s high quality and a bang for your buck. Makes everything easier to apply. ... show more

  • The ONLY Review You Need to Read! GET IT!!
Color: Blushing Bride
If you’re a cheapo that likes high quality things such as myself, THESE BRUSHES ARE PERFECT. They are VERY comparable to Morphe Brushes, and dare I say, these Jessup brushes are even BETTER. They’re soft without feeling plastic-y (only one really had a “synthetic” feel to it, which is the 125 Stippling brush) and they apply makeup better than a lot of higher-end brushes that I’ve tried in the past. I got the color in Blushing Bride and they are absolutely beautiful! All of the brushes come individually packaged in a plastic wrapper; the bigger, fluffier brushes have a net-like thing on the bristles which protects them (only 24 brushes are shown in the picture because one brush had rolled under my leg, so none were missing). I’ve seen reviews complaining about a hair or two being out of place, but personally, I see no issue in that; none of my brushes were shedding or fuzzy-looking. I’m not a picky person, but if YOUR brushes don’t come in in tip-top shape, send them back and get a new batch because these are worth it despite any minor flaw!! I only used 7 of the 25 brushes to apply my makeup for the look I created in these pictures for my everyday routine. I used all of my same products; however, I did not apply or blend my foundation with any of the brushes *out of preference*, so I CAN’T say how these brushes would handle blending liquid foundation. Brushes Used: I used the 105 Luxe Highlight brush to apply my setting/baking powder (as shown in the second picture), and it picked up my Fenty Beauty setting powder really well and applied just how I wanted it to. 110 Face Shape brush: Essence powder contour around face and nose- this brush is super small to be contouring or bronzing the cheeks, but none of the others seemed to be the right shape or density besides the brush I had already used to apply my blush. 127 Luxe Sheer Cheek brush: NARS powder blush- this one didn’t apply my blush exactly how I liked, so I would simply use a different brush next time. This one would’ve been the better cheek contour brush for its shape. 322 Brow Liner: brows using ABH dip brow pomade- was a bit big for applying this product, so next time I would swap it out for the 312 Detail Liner brush (disclaimer: none of these eye brushes have a “spoolie” to brush and blend out brow products) 228 Luxe Crease, 227 Luxe Soft Definer, and 226 Smudger brushes: eyeshadow with my GlamLite Chocolate Donut Palette and The Chocolates Palette by Juvia’s Place- these eyeshadow brushes really knocked everything out of the park even though I only used 3 of the 15 EYE brushes in this 25pc set. Keep in mind to not rely solely on pictures of how makeup applied for others in reviews because makeup primer, brand, and skills OR lack of those things can affect how these brushes will APPEAR to perform. All of the brushes are different so DON’T expect multiples; if you do lots of colorful eyeshadow looks very often, I would purchase this set along with Jessup’s brush set that comes with JUST the 15 or 18 eye brushes which is $25.99 if I’m remembering correctly. I cannot say for certain how these brushes would hold up during a wash because I try not to wash my makeup brushes as often as I should, but these are SO nice that I wouldn’t even mind if they got a little bit beat up because I would keep using them and continue buying more. These would be an amazing gift to anyone that has a love for makeup or even anyone that is a beginner in the makeup world. ... show more

  • A nice set with some minor limitations.
Color: Shimmer Brown
Not long ago, I purchased a set of fantastic foundation, powder, setting and blending brushes from Jessup, which then led me to purchase a set of fabulous lip brushes. After those great experiences, I took a closer look at my existing (large) collection of face, eye, and specialty brushes and saw a lot of duds that needed to be replaced. I looked at all of the collections that Jessup has, and purchased the brown shimmer (which is really just the handle color) collection because it had a firm eye blender and a small fan shaped highlighter brush. All of the sets are virtually identical, but there are some small variations within them. FTR, while I wasn’t really picky about the color(s) of my brush collection, I really was disappointed that there isn’t a black-on-black collection that would seamlessly match my other Jessup brushes. ::sigh:: When my brushes arrived, I won’t lie: it was slightly overwhelming. There are a LOT of shadow and liner brushes, which is kind of great, but you do need to work with them a bit to familiarize yourself with their design and function. Unfortunately, there’s not one basic lip brush in the entire collection (WHY?), and I really do think that a few of the eyeshadow or eyeliner brushes could easily be sacrificed for 1-3 essential lip brushes to provide a more well rounded collection, especially for those investing in their first kit. Mind you, this is an entry level kit, so IMO, offering something that covers ALL the basic of makeup essentials - that’s also buildable so the user can add to or purchase other specialty brushes - would be a more attractive way for those who want to invest in a really good makeup bush kit over time. The bristles are soft and fluffy and feel nice on the skin. If you use high end products that are pressed really well (eyeshadows, blushes, contour, highlighter) the brushes hold product pretty well but are best when given a good tap and a blow off to get rid of powder that’s not holding well. Loose products don’t adhere quite as good (I have some MAC multiuse pigments, for instance), and there is some product falloff, so you’ll want to be mindful of that. Additionally, the handles of these brushes are shorter and stouter than those of my other brushes from Jessup, and that’s disappointing because it really does affect your product application and blending - and not for the better. If I’d have realized how much shorter the handles on these brushes were, I’d have kept looking until I found something similar to my other Jessup brushes (though I would have had to look to a different manufacturer as it doesn’t appear that Jessup offers a higher end, complete collection that’s more for serious amateur/semi-pro/pro collection). I am pretty surprised by this, because the first two sets I purchased from them are *really* nice; this collection doesn’t seem to be of quite the same caliber. Overall, this is a nice set for people just getting into more serious or creative makeup application. It’s a good deal if you catch it on sale and does make a nice gift as an entry level, every day collection. However, the handles are shorter, and users really don’t need all the various color options (do we?), we mostly want quality brushes with the ability to build out our arsenal as our needs increase or change. It doesn’t appear that you can add additional matching brushes to any of these bundled collections, so for instance, if you wanted to add their very large, fluffy loose powder brush - you have to purchase that as part of an entirely different set (which also higher end, IMO) and it’s not going to match your collection. Would I repurchase? Not this collection for me. However, if I had a niece or nephew just starting out, I would purchase this collection knowing that it would cover most of their needs (minus lip brushes), and know at some point in their future, they’d probably upgrade to something else. ... show more
