COMFORTABLE GUEST BED AT A LOW PRICE POINT FUTON TOP MATTRESS At first I bought this for the simple fact that it has a low profile to add an extra topper to my portable bottom mattress as like a day bed or portable guest bed. Also, as suggested, I purchased the Amazon Basics twin size sheet set, and the fitted sheet actually does fits almost perfectly on this. So once I had set it up… it was natural to try it out and test it. At first, I was doubtful that it would work as a guest bed.., My first night was not great either., I have primarily low back pain and use a back pillow to help witt that. What helped with this was allowing it to expand for 3 days before use. With me, also, after some light stretching the pain subsided a bit. After about 5 months of personal use, I can confidently say there have been no issues with my lowe back pain and my back pain is GONE. I was using a firmer memory foam mattress prior to this, and I remember waking up with back pain all the time. It takes a bit to get used to, but I don't remember tossing and turning much while using this. The other mattress I was using, I remember turning back and forth frequently throughout the night. I'm more of a side sleeper and I can confirm that this will work for that. I will say that the. I took the recommendation of a prior reviewer and have switched to simply folding the futon in an s shape, which works perfectly fine. I purchased this for my teen daughter’s top bunk. She wanted a thin mattress that she could just chill on an wasn’t thick like a normal mattress. This was perfect an what she was looking for. She’s even fallen asleep on it and said it’s more comfortable than what she thought. I will say it’s definitely not 4 inches thick like they say.     • Had to add a topper to make it right..

I found that in and of itself it was too hard for me to use as a bed. However, there's a hack to get it right: just add a comfortable mattress topper into it. The nice thing about this is that it comes with a cover, so you can insert the topper inside of the cover. I'm currently using two different toppers, one 1.5inch and another 1 inch and it's fine for sleeping now. It's not as comfortable as an actual mattress but it's exactly what I wanted. I essentially wanted a glorified floor mat, something more comfortable than a yoga mat that can also be used for sleeping on as well, and now it works fine. I don't like regular mattresses because they are hard to move and they're almost too comfortable where you just lay in them all day. And it's hard to sit on regular mattresses as you work because you sink in too much. That's why floor mats shine. ... show more

At first I bought this for the simple fact that it has a low profile, you can fold it up when not it use. In my current living situation, I don't have room for a bed, so this seemed like the perfect option. I also purchased a tatami mat, just as a barrier between the futon and the floor, and a buckwheat hull pillow. As suggested, I purchased the Amazon Basics twin size sheet set, the fitted sheet fits almost perfectly on this. At first, I was thinking maybe I had made a mistake, the first night was not great, as I had existing back and neck pain (It didn't help that I didn't let it expand for 3 days before use.) However, after some light stretching the pain subsided a bit. After about a week of use, I can confidently say most of my back pain is GONE. I was using a firmer memory foam mattress prior to this, and I remember waking up with back pain all the time. It takes a bit to get used to, but I don't remember tossing and turning much while using this. The other mattress I was using, I remember turning back and forth frequently throughout the night. I'm more of a side sleeper and I can confirm that this will work for that. I will say that the included "sack" for storage is complete garbage. It immediately started ripping when I first used it. I have switched to simply folding the futon in an s shape, which works perfectly fine. Also, the included straps are dangerous, the clasps are brittle, one snapped while I was cinching it and nearly took my eye out. The included dust cover is fine, I put it on, but still use a sheet. The dust cover is soft, but I could see through it, so it's potential to actually protect the futon is limited. Overall I am very satisfied with this purchase. ... show more

I got this product to stop sleeping on the couch, so I wouldn’t be on the floor with just a blanket & have to go thru the blowing up of an air mattress everyday. This mattress is not 4in thick as stated, so that’s misleading, however for the price this was a good option. I have a mattress pad (1.25thick) + the floor mattress, combined they prob make 2-2.5in of thickness between the mat/floor. I do plan to get another mattress pad so it’ll be more comfortable for me. So if I just had this mattress I’d imagine it would be harder and a little less comfortable. For it to be used on the floor (in my case) it is surprisingly comfortable. I like the portable factor that it came with a bag & unattached straps. Since the bag I got came with the straps unattached I don’t have to use the bag really (which I don’t mind). It came with a black cover (that’s washable), I still used a full fitted sheet and it is accurate in size. Overall, it provides a good cushion between you & the floor/ground. It’s not super plush or a pillow top mattress so comfortability it all depends on you. If you like those types of mattresses then you prob should add a good mattress pad. So far so good, so in my case it beats having to blow up a mattress. I can roll this up and place it in a corner. Since it’s full size it’s a little bigger than I thought, it’s still a good portable mattress. ... show more
