Got this for my 11 yo middle school daughter and she absolutely loves it! So many pockets!!! It’s amazing how much you can store in this backpack. The dedicated laptop pocket is fantastic. I had my last JanSport backpack for the past 20 years and it was time to update. JanSport is the most durable bag I have ever owned. Only updated because my old bag was light purple and after 20 years of use it was dirty and dingy. It was a no brainer that I was going with JanSport but I just need to find the right style/design. I love that the new style had a laptop compartment. Since COVID I work remotely but do go into the office on occasion and this bag provides space for everything I need to take back and forth. I love to pen pal, but needed the right bag to hold all of my supplies in an organized way. This has so many great pockets that I can get everything in there and organized with room to spare. The backpack is also very comfy to wear with slight padding on the back and the straps. It wears well with no digging into my shoulders when I wear it. Purchased this for my 2nd grade daughter. She LOVES the galaxy print and I love how durable these backpacks are. I was pleased that the straps adjusted down so small, so it didn't overwhelm her smaller frame. My son has had the same JanSport backpack for three years now and it has ZERO rips, zippers are all still working, and it holds all of his schoolwork and lunchbox and water bottle. ... show more

I've been using this backpack for three months now, and it's still holding up extremely well. It has many pockets to everything I need. As another reviewer said, the inside of the back does feel kind of like an insulated lunch box, but it really does help keep stuff dry. There were a few times the I had to walk through the rain for my college classes (and I once had to run through some heavy downpour). My backpack got wet, but the stuff inside was still dry. I can't say much about the laptop compartment because I keep my laptop in its own separate bag, but I did notice that there isn't as much padding at the bottom of the bag. I would recommend putting something cushy at the bottom if you plan on storing a laptop in there. My only complaint about the bag is that the water bottle pocket is on my right side instead of the left side like my other JanSport backpack. ... show more

Comfortable. Lots of space (no pun intended). Looks ok if you don't have heavy, pointy objects pushing against the bottom. The material on the bottom is thinner than I'd hoped (you can see light through the fabric, as shown in the video), but that probably won't be a problem for the purposes I'm using it for. If I were carrying heavy textbooks, I'd wonder how long the fabric on the bottom would last. I like the lifetime warranty, and hope I never need to use it. Shoulder straps seem nicely padded. I would not use the water bottle holder for anything more than a 20 oz drink. I literally just opened the bag with the backpack, and already little strings are showing under the stitching of the zipper? I do like the print (Night Sky). Overall, a decent bag. Hopefully it will last for many years. ... show more

    • A pocket for everything!
I travel to multiple hospitals and never have a desk of my own that I can set up a permanent office. So I carry my office with me every night at work. I was using a chic leather designer work bag. The tote version that goes over one shoulder. But I carry a lot of crap and it’s quite a distance to walk from my car to the office. I started to have back and shoulder pain from my heavy bag. So being a professional, I decided to harken back to my school days and bought a backpack. I always had a Jansport in school, because they were durable and the in thing. I got the cosmos pattern this time, because I figured it was a tiny bit quirky but still professional. And who can argue with space, right?! Well, my boss promptly told me that she had the same backpack for her son in elementary school. That kid has good taste. Anyway, my back and shoulder pain are now gone. Well, mostly. The back pack is very comfortable to wear with thick padded straps. It’s a bit heavy and a bit huge. But it’s got a ton of compartments. So many pockets. I bought this to replace my son’s bookbag. He’s in the third grade and carries folders, marble notebooks, reading books, masks, water bottle, pencil box. The sections are roomy and help keep his stuff organized - more for my sanity than it is for him. He’s hard on his stuff and I haven’t seen a rip/tear yet. No complaints of back/shoulder pain.
