The Skyline Range has been designed for every type of sewing - every day, home décor, high fashion, patchwork and quilting. 120 built-in stitches including 10 buttonholes gives you the perfect range of stitches for any task. Special buttonhole settings allow fine adjustments for precise detail. The Skyline S3 offers multiple needle positions. This allows for more detail in decorative stitches, and incredible fine adjustments in all stitch creation. And with 7mm stitch width, this sort of bold detail can be easily appreciated. Ultra-birght LED lights in three locations illuminate the bed of the machine, providing a dazzling work area. Be able to vividly see your projects and with the extra light, seeing smaller areas is easier. Auto Tension System - When "A" is selected on the tension dial, the machine adjusts the tension based on fabric thickness. Especially useful when switching between fabric layers and types. Allows user to create perfect stitch consistency on a wide range of materials. The user can set his/her own tension traditionally by selecting from the numbers on the tension dial. The Skyline S3 has a 310mm long arm (over 12") with 210mm of work area to the right of the needle and an arm space of 120mm ( 4.7" ) high giving you plenty of room to cope with those bigger projects. The stitch quality is excellent at speeds of up to 820 Stitches Per Minute whilst the special built-in features will help you cope with almost any sewing challenge. Pivot on corners with the needle up/down feature, control the maximum sewing speed for precision work, trim off threads with the built-in automatic thread cutter, thread the needle automatically - everything you need to make your sewing easier.

Let me begin by saying that Janome is the finest quality machine I’ve ever owned. It’s just so fancy and I’m amazed every time I sew with this awesome machine. I’ve owned only two other brands, Singer and Brother and I will say that they are great machines too and I still have much love and respect for their machines as well. However, I feel like I have won a jackpot owning this machine. It’s so smooth and quite! Now it’s pretty heavy but considering its size, it’s really not that bad. In my picture posted, there is my Brother (which is both a sewing and embroidery machine) and then there is my Janome on the left. It is quite larger than the Brother but the quality is so superior than any of my other sewing machines. I feel like this machine will definitely outlast me. The stitches are great quality. I’ve experimented with many of them but not all because there are SO many! I bought this machine mainly for quilting because of all the different stitches listed but I will use it for general sewing purposes. I love to sew just about anything but little girls dresses are so much fun! I consider myself an intermediate sewer. I’m self taught along with a good bit of YouTube videos but I’m a fast learner. With that said, if this is your first sewing machine, it may be a little tricky but follow the manual. This machine is awesome. I consider it “my Cadillac”. I've really enjoyed this sewing machine. I've had it since 2017 and it's always been very reliable. I can't believe it's been so long because it runs just like the day I bought it. It's important to use good, quality thread or your machine can end up the repair shop!

    • Excellent quiet sleek machine
I have only used it for a short while. I love the nice way it sews It I quiet and smooth. I haven't used any of the other stitches yet. I have used a pfaff machine for the last 24-5 years and this machine sees as smooth and quiet as it did at less than half the price. It has good lighting ( a must) , there is so much more to the machine that I haven't had a chance to try out yet. When I give a full review I will list pros and cons. One thing I don't like is the lack of info and videos on the web. The s5,7,9 have all kind of reviews and videos of everything about them. The s3 It was difficult to find any that did anything but tell you the parts of the machine. I will be using my machine both for quilting and general sewing. All in all, it is a larger heavier quiet machine. It is very quiet (I love) lots of nice pressor feet in the bundle. Well worth what I paid for it. ... show more

Love this machine! Works a lot like my old Elna so it is easy to use. So far, everything has gone well - did a run through of all the stitches and everything works. Love that it comes with some extra feet. It is a bit bigger than my Elna but that is a plus when sewing a large item - I can still pick it up and move it around but I usually keep it in one place. I will be using this machine to most of my normal sewing - think it will handle it with ease. ... show more

I like the machine but I want to use it for free motion quilting and it did not come with a free motion foot. I'm having trouble finding one

    • dosn't work well.
The machine did not work as it should have. It would sew for a while then no thread in the material or it would bunch up underneath. I sent it back. I am waiting to hear from Amazon about my refund.

This was given as a birthday gift to me. I absolutely love love love this machine!! With my hands having arthritis, the self cutting button, the self threading needle, the drop in Bob and on top instead of underneath, and the smoothness of the machine, is everything I could’ve ever hoped for!
