Our ancient Elna died. We were disappointed to find that the company was no longer in business. Apparently, Janome acquired Elna. Not certain whether the machines were anything alike we decided to give the Janome a try. There were several positive youtube videos featuring Janome machines. I found the machine to be excellent to use. It has a lot of features our 50 year old Elna didn't :). When my wife used it for the first time she was very pleased that it "sounded" a lot like her old machine. It runs very smoothly (she hates machines that "KLUNK". This Janome 4120 QDC B is only 2 weeks old for my wife. We have not used it long enough to find a dislike. Features she was interested in were the push button start and stop, automatic needle threader, metal internal parts, ability to open the thread take up cover, and the bonus quilting pack.
