  • Good Fit
Color: Black Size: Mens Size 11
Couldn't find ice skates at local stores so had to buy online. I was worried about the size being right since I couldn't try them on to see how they run. Read reviews which said they run true to actual shoe size (USA) so that is what I bought. Perfect fit on length and snug on width, but need to be for support. I also was worried about having enough room for extra pair of socks but reviewer said they weren't needed and they were right! Good insulation in the shoe part. Only issue is I'm probably too old to be out on our slippery pond after not skating for 40 years. Fell on my back but not the skates' fault. ... show more

  • Most comfortable skates I have owned
Color: Black Size: Mens Size 10
Have purchased hockey skates most of my life. Mostly bought Bauer, but the last pair literally fell apart in my hands when I was putting them on this year. They were a combination of plastic and material (hard outer boot and inner boot). One of the most uncomfortable skates I have ever had so somewhat glad when they disintegrated. After searching a number of reviews, I went with the Jackson Recreational Skate. Didn't expect much but was very happy to feel how comfortable they are. By far, the most comfortable skates I have ever owned. Great support, warm, and appear to be made well. Very happy with them so far though only had them for a short time. ... show more

  • Warm for outdoor skating
Color: Black Size: Mens Size 6
These arrived quickly. We have 2 pairs and they are used outdoors on the lake. Feet are very warm for the hours we spent skating. Both pairs were completely dull out of the box, no edge what so ever. But were sent for sharpening before first use. One pair the wearer has wide small feet. Other hockey skates crush her feet. These are ok in width but after sometime wearing can tell they are not roomy in the toe box. But can be tolerated. The second wearer has a high ankle bone. With was fine for him. But a slight tension on his ankle after some time of wearing. But no wear near as stiff as regular hockey skates. Of note these blades are longer than traditional hockey skate blades. This can make Sharpe turns slightly more difficult. We are mainly pleasure skating and simple hockey playing so they work just fine. I would not wear these for competitive hockey. Overall I would highly recommend these skates. ... show more

  • Eh, just okay, but better than most competition
Color: Black Size: Mens Size 9
I bought Softec skates because tying is hard for me, these are no help. They have one weak velcro strap but otherwise are as difficult to lace and tie as any other. They are not padded comfortably as I would expect from this type (& expense) of skate, and parts on the inside do wear against my skin some, though perhaps less than a traditional hockey skate. It might be me being out of shape, but they also feel slower than I think they should, and as a comparatively advanced skater I would expect to keep up better. We don't have easy access to blade service here, so I can't say if it is dull blades from the factory, or me out of shape. We returned several other types of skates that were worse, and less expensive, but kept these. The blades seem well balanced and mounted correctly, which is apparently novel in this industry now. Overall, I am disappointed, wished for more ski boot like closure and a more comfortable boot. ... show more

  • Very comfortable! Awesome Skates
Color: Black Size: Mens Size 9
I got a set of different skates (American) for Christmas, but they pinched like crazy and also were hard to get on and off. I decided to return them and replaced them with these Softec's - and I am very happy so far with that decision. The Softec's are very comfortable and fit like a glove. I do recommend using the sizing chart, as I typically wear a size 11 shoe, but the skate size turned out to be a 9. These are super comfortable, easy to get on and off, and the skates/boot seem of good quality. The only "negative" is that it is a soft boot - so I would not want to take a puck off the skate or anything like that. This is a "for fun" skate, and I would not classify it as a pure hockey skate. For general pond skating, it works out great though. ... show more

  • Good but mine was defective.
Color: Black Size: Mens Size 12
I was impressed at first. The control and feel was good. After 2 weeks of skating. 1 time a week I was inspecting my blade on my right boot and noticed a 1" long crack in the blade. I'm sure it was just a defect in the steel on my right boot but could have caused injury. Returning was the only way. I will be buying another hoping it doesn't crack also but we'll see. ... show more

  • Good but not great
Color: Black Size: Mens Size 10
Good blades and ok fit--I have wide feet so a bit snug. Where the laces are in relation to the velcro strap is dumb and creates interference. In the end better than most rentals but after an hour my feet still felt like they were in a vice.

  • Pretty good but tough fit.
Color: Black Size: Mens Size 12
I initially measured the way they said which didn't work. I ended up buying my normal size which was decent. They're still pretty tight on the fronts/sides of my feet but very loose at the ankle. The tongue gets irritating with my smaller ankles BUT they were okay. For the price they're good but my local sharpener had a difficult time sharpening the blade with softer steel. ... show more
