  • Players guitar - plain and simple.
My js22-7 king v arrived from ado rama seemingly safely packed in a very nice double box. I was concerned because the 'points' on guitars like these always seem to be located right at the corners of the boxes. This causes a likelihood of a damaged point or 2 in shipping. The guitar arrived in perfect shape. Guitar itself: The guitar is very excellent and a very inexpensive bargain. The design is very plain and simple like most of the best designed products. But attention has been paid to small details that make this guitar great, such as the very cool bevels on the sides if the wings and the super cool flat black paint finish that can be perfectly touched up with 'woodstove black' paste. Seemingly a cheap low end guitar for novices, this is in fact a very excellent 'v' style bolt on 7-string available at a super ultra mega affordable price. Players will be happy that this 7-string is affordable - in a world of ornate and very expensive other 7-string options. All of the hardware is very good in its stock form. I have modified nothing. But all of the simple hardware can be replaced with available high end guitar hardware parts if desired. My guitar plays well and the stock tuners are of decent quality and they all work well, even if they are geared at a high ratio. I prefer 18:1 ratio tuners ftom gotoh, grover, schaller, or other recognized high quality tuner companies. Tuners make a big difference and beware of impostors and wanna bees. Purchasing high quality tuners or keeping the stock ones might be better ideas. Note that the stock jackson branded tuners on my guitar are very decent and they remain on the guitar. This is a big guitar and it is very long. However, much to my enjoyment, this guitar is very 'light weight'. This is a very light weight guitar - the opposite of what you might guess. Big but light. This guitar is sporty and easy to handle, lift, stand up against things, etc. The 'v' shape is found by some players to be ultra mega ergonomic - easy to hold, handle, and play by a human. They might be made by computers and production robots but they are made to be played by people and these guitars feel real good in the hands. These are reputedly without neck dive. ... show more

  • Bad ass axe. Bad ass Jackson king v bay bee!!!
Can’t post ten stars so five will have to do. Came early. In almost brand new shape. (Was ordered used, but if it is used, then the previous owner didn’t play it much) it’s a Jackson king v. Not much else one could add to that. Everyone should already know Jackson doesn’t play around when it comes to their guitar builds. And this one is no exception!! Plays great, action a little high, but I’m about to fix that right now. Pickups are fairly decent. Have great tone, could use a little more power tho, but these will work for now. It’s an awesome guitar. I was worried about packaging. Cuz we all know the points on vs can snap off easily. But this was packaged with about three rain forests worth of cardboard! So no scratches or broken tips. Again, if there was a ten star button, this would get it. Thanks y’all, now I’m going to go play so when I grow up I can be a guitargod …. (: ... show more

  • Amazing guitar.
This guitar is out standing. Don’t let the price scare you off, if anything Jackson under priced this guitar. Out of the box this 7 string beast was set up from factory. Some players may need to adjust the action to personal preference. The Jackson pick ups have a nice tone and control nobs are smooth. The neck is slim and sharp. Perfect shape for speed pickers and shredders. The higher notes are easy to hit and reach with the V design. The head stock has a nice angle on it. The tuners are very nice. I haven’t experienced any string slipping or issues staying in tune. I’ve played many guitars since I was 15 and this guitar is one of my favorite. The 7 string really opens the door for metal players. Nice job Jackson. ... show more

  • Not too sure on this one
**Update: Returning this guitar. It's neck is extremely wide, too much to make this a daily player. Like my 5 string p bass, this would sit on the wall gathering dust. Only play it on special occasions. The nut appears unfinished, one groove not fully cut through, and required much more initial work that get playable than much cheaper guitars. Fret buzz was unreal. Now I understand why the 7 string versions are so much cheaper than the 6 string versions. **This is the most expensive guitar I own. It is the only one that did not come playable from the factory. While my other guitars and basses needed a set-up to really shine, I could at least enjoy them before sending them for work. Not this one, the fret buzz is so bad it sounds like metal wind chimes or a rain stick inside and prevents me from just messing around. Checked the fret/string gaps and a pretty clear bow to the neck around the 4th fret is the obvious culprit. I understand guitars aren't really supposed to come from the factory dialed-in, but even my real cheap ones were playable. Once this is set up I will be able to provide a better opinion. The 7 string option does mean the neck is much wider than normal. I did not count on this, and while shouldn't be an issue, it does seem like I should have waited for the 6 string version to come on sale. That being said, somehow this increased my guitar skill just holding it. Like..musical racing stripes. It is heavy, solid, looks absolutely gorgeous. Classic flying V. ... show more

  • Another well done from Jackson :>
Might need to adjust the truss rod. Seems me neck may be a bit bowed. Nice guitar tho, watch where you are going cause it dents easily. Nice guitar overall though.
