  • Killer stock shredder for the price
Color: Snow White RFB
This Jackson snow white JS22 DKA right out of the box is killer, 3way blade nice and tight, volume and tone pots smooth, tunners was the most surprising, I didn't have to tighten them up at all with no slop and stays in tune, the jackson branded pickups sound pretty dam good, fret ends were awesome, fret job was perfect no high frets straight neck also a nice low action. I purchased this for a project guitar, I put full size 500 k pots, upgraded the switch, upgraded the jack, I have a push pull coul spliter I haven installed yet, the tunners I'm not going to change they work to good as is, I installed Seymore Duncan distortion mayhem set of pick ups, the bridge is putting out 16+, neck is 14+, definitely kicks ass big time. But for the price of $189.00 then tax came out to $202.00 with free prime shipping can't beat it. My upgrades were around $250.00 so for under $500.00 with Seymore Duncan picks along with the other upgrades I would put the guitar up against any $1500.00 guitar any day and it would smoke it. ... show more

  • Hits way above its price point
Color: Snow White
I have a lot of high end guitars from Gibson, Fender, USA BC Rich, PRS, and higher priced Jacksons. This Jackson for a $179 hits way above its price point. Its has less flaws than my Les Paul standard and SG came with. The neck feels better than my $1200 Jackson King V. Intonation was really good. I was worried about fret sprout and was fully prepared to fil the frets. To my surprise it wasn't needed. The frets were pretty good out of the Box. The action was just right and ready to go. Then Fretboard seemed dry, so I took the strings off and oiled the fretboard and restrung it and it place really nice. The frets themselves could use some polishing, but that's to be expected on a guitar at this price point. The stock pick ups are actually not that bad and overall tone for those into rock and Metal is pretty good. The tuners work and the guitar stays in tune well. This could be a great first guitar that you can grow with. I would not hesitate to tossing some upgrades on this guitar. Maybe a better nut, and some locking tuners. This thing is hitting way above its price point. Lets hope Jackson keeps this price this way. Whats also cool about Jackson is it just says Jackson not something else to say its an affordable model. Like ESP does with LTD or Fender with Squire. So you could take this to a gig and no one would be the wiser that you are playing a very affordable guitar. ... show more

  • Feels good, sounds good
Color: Snow White
I will say that you’ll probably need to mess with the intonation and action to get this guitar to sound perfectly on-pitch. But once you do that, it’s great and fun to play. People might diss the pickups, but here’s a secret: in a high-gain studio environment, they do not matter. When EQ’d and multitracked right, this guitar sounds literally identical to the $1k+ ones they sample in Kontakt libraries when put through the same chain. ... show more

  • Whoever said this was a good guitar was mistaken. It is a GREAT guitar!
Color: Snow White
I love this Jackson Dinky JS22. I previously owned a Jackson Soloist Pro MIJ and I really liked the neck. So, I bought this. It is nice looking, has a good fit and finish, a super comfortable neck, and sounds like a champ. Out of the box, the setup was good. The only thing I would change is that the string height (action) is too high for me. The cool thing is that each string has its own height adjustment. I did put new .009 D'Addario strings on it (the stock ones sounded fine BTW) and added 2 more springs to the tremolo since I will never use it. After the strings were properly wound at the tuner and stretched, it stays in tune like a champ. I often play clean and the hot pickups give a nice overdrive tone. If you're really in to using the Tremolo bar, I would spend the extra bucks and get a JS32. It has a Double Locking Floyd Rose Tremolo, so it will stay in tune when you're beating on it. A few guys say that with the cost you wouldn't be heartbroken if someone stole it at a gig. But, I think I would be very sad. ... show more

  • Good Value for money paid
Color: Snow White
I bought this because I wanted a 24 fret guitar to noodle on and didn't want to spend much on one. I also didnt want a Floyd Rose but did want a tremolo which really narrowed the field for me. Ok first off the cons: 1. Nut wasnt shaped at all but was cut ok. I shaped it and it is fine. 2. Tuners sucked. Replaced them with gotoh locking tuners. 3. The screws for the saddles are really long. I trimmed them down with my dremmel and raised the bridge so it would float about an 1/8th of an inch. 4. Toggle was a weird feeling cheap china one so I switched it for a tele switch which barely fits because the guitar is so thin. Pros: 1. This guitar is worth every penny of the $180 I paid for it with tax. I got it as a used/blem it has a small black dot of what I think is ink on the back of the neck. 2. Plays great, stays in tune even under mild but not savage whammy stuff. 3. The stock pickups sounded pretty good but I wanted coil taps so I swapped in a Duncan JB/Jazz set which made it sound even better. Its spooky because I play this next to my R7 Black Beauty and I think it might sound better. I havent had a super strat since back in the 90's when I played a Jackson SL1 for several years. This is not an SL1. It is a better value per dollar spent IMO though. I love the way this guitar sounds. It kills for everything from country and classic rock to speed metal. I liked it so much I just picked up a Jackson JS34 with a jackson floyd, but thats another review. ... show more

  • My daughter loves this!
Color: Snow White
My teenage daughter loves this guitar. It’s her first electric and she is in heaven. She plays almost every day. It brings her so much joy. She is tiny so it is lightweight enough for her to play with ease, even if they ‘re. not tall. In height.

  • Keeps breaking
Color: Snow White
The plate that holds connection where the amp plugs in to the guitar has come off half a dozen times. I had to quit my guitar lessons, because I was so far behind on practice from all the times the guitar was out of commission. It's currently broken again and this time, I'm not even sure where the nut and washer flew off to. It's a great beginner guitar when it works, I suppose. ... show more
