Description

Eco washing ball uses ceramic balls for Far infrared rays, anion, and Alkali those change the water's molecular structure in every wash load from H2O to H2O2. Many decades ago a traveling friend told me of this type of gizmo. Since I am allergic to many laundry products, I ordered laundry discs. What's great? No residue of laundry detergents. This means that my sheets felt velvety and stopped smelling of perfumes. Took about 7 washes for the residues to be gone. Cheaper to use than laundry products! Works during the wash and the rinse cycles. If there's a stain, choose a longer cycle and that usually works. Now it sounds like an advertisement, but let me say it anyways. I'm a serious artist, grubbing about in an art studio. My former was a stage hand in a professional theater. Far more grubby... FAR. Everything came clean using this method. Whites. You may choose to add a laundry brightener for whites. This is what is in laundry detergents so that the eye is fooled. Best of all, it does absolutely no polluting.     • Metallic scent, not great for deeply soiled clothing

So, I bought these because my boyfriend has allergies to all detergents. They work—kinda. That is, they’ll get a load of his heavily soiled work clothes clean-ish. They will not remove stains or baked-in grime in a working man’s clothes. I’ve used them also on lightly soiled loads, light bedding. They work okay. Whites do not get crisply cleaned. My workaround for the boyfriend is that I wash his stuff twice. I use hypoallergenic baby detergent on his clothes first and then run another cycle with the laundry balls. That’s fixed it but kills any eco-friendly claim due to using more water and having to use detergent anyway. ***Scent*** These make everything smell metallic. They just do. So, the workaround is making sure you get your wash immediately out of the machine as soon as the cycle finishes and taking the calls out so they can dry between loads (not necessary if you have a load going in immediate succession, but for sure dry the balls if you’re waiting a day or more between use). Do not store them in your machine unless you want to amplify the already metallic scent. I’ve been using these daily for a few weeks now, so I think I’ve gotten a good sense of how they work. If you use them along with other cleaning solutions, they’re a good option for extra clean laundry. If you’re using them with nothing else ever, your clothes and linens will probably get dingy looking pretty quickly. ... show more

    • You need to buy (2) for Large Loads... misleading

Most won't realize (because the section of the box they supply an image of doesn't enlarge and it's not very clear)... BUT 1 order of two balls only covers small to medium loads. You need 2 ORDERS with 4 balls to do LARGE Loads (like most people do regularly). They don't make that clear, so the company that makes this product is being intentionally misleading. I'm assuming they prefer to take their chances of making the initial sale of 1 order, 2 balls and count on you ordering another in order to do large loads once you realize... as opposed to attempting to sell a 4 pack for double the amount. I imagine they'd not do as well with the latter strategy... still misleading though. As for its performance, it seems to do a decent job on regular laundry, but as mentioned stains still need to be addressed with stain removers and heavily soiled loads still need some detergent. Overall, still a useful, Earth-friendly, Money saving alternative... just buy (2) orders, you'll need it. I gave 3 stars overall because of the misleading advertisement/strategy. I'd give the product itself 3.5 to 4 stars. Follow up 1/9/20: I would like direct answers from the manufacturer in the Q & A section too, not just other users opinions. The info on the box is not thorough, nor is there detailed instructions inside: 1. On the box it says to put the items out in direct sunlight to reset them, but is this effective in the fall winter? Is there an recommended alternative... window sill, other form of heat (like heat vent), other? 2. Will the addition of vinegar or baking soda interfere with the products effectiveness? ... show more

I was skeptical but decided to try these anyway as soap is hard on fabrics and skin. Much to my delight things really do get clean! No yucky odors, no left over dirt, and no soap residue to gum up and dull fabrics. I'm very impressed and will purchase again when these have passed their usefulness.

Initially these appear to work... I suspect because most people use too much detergent in their washes and some detergent is initially left in the washer. After about the 4th or 5th load, the laundry doesn't smell okay after using these. Or rather when the laundry first comes out of the dryer, it smells okay, but after being in the drawer for a little while, the clothing definitely does NOT smell okay. It starts to smell stale and dank and a little like dried up puke. By the time you realize this, it'll be past the return period that Amazon allows. Additionally, it is implied that you can use 1 for a load of laundry, but on the box it says 1-4 depending on the size of the load - larger loads require 3-4 balls. If one uses too many balls, there is a residue that is transferred from the balls to the clothing... I'm not 100% sure too many balls was the cause, but definitely happened once or twice. All, in all, I think these are a waste of money and time and I'll be sticking with detergent. ... show more
