During the process of venting crankcase pressure back through your intake track, large amounts of oil, in the form of vapors can gather/accumulate in your intake tube, intake manifold runners and even dilute your gas, lowering its octane level. This happens in all engines and is even worse with forced inducted vehicles (supercharged and turbocharged) as crankcase pressures are increased. To combat this, we have developed an oil separator of our own design. Milled from solid billet aluminum this is a rock solid piece. It has a knurled tank base for easy removal to drain the spent oil and an O-ring seal to prevent any leaks. ⚠This product is NOT CARB (California Air Resource Board) Exempt. I bought this because I had some issues with my truck hesitating upon hard acceleration. I changed the spark plugs and that helped, but this product eliminated the problem entirely. What I like about the product: First of all, the product was relatively easy to install using the instructions found on their website. I'm very happy with the quality of the product, the look, and the overall fit and finish. The connections made it easy to "plug and play". I saw other products with heavier duty hoses and worried this might be light weight, but I don't see any issue with them at all - it's at least the same quality as what I was replacing. After installation, the truck no longer hesitates under heavy acceleration - so glad this did the trick! My truck is a 2013 Ford F150 with the 3.5L Ecoboost engine. I just did my first "empty" of the collection can - surprised it was just over half full after about 6 weeks of use! What could be improved: 1.) As some have mentioned, it would be great if there was just a little more hose length. I was able to get it to fit perfectly, but a little extra would have made it easier. 2.) It would be nice if the receptacle was bigger. It holds exactly as advertised, but this is a little small for the volume of junk it's collecting. ... show more

I've read and watched numerous videos that discussed whether or not there was a benefit to using a 'can', and I'm not going to debate that here, as I'm not 100% sure, myself. That said, I will say that it does remove oil vapor as well as any condensation that could build up inside of the valve case. The directions that are included are very detailed and the installation process is easy enough for people who aren't automotive-mechanically inclined. I don't have any serious issues, but if I did, the only real complaint I'd have is the mounting post that the can is connected to, is extremely flimsy. I mean it works, but removing the lower portion of the can causes the mounting bracket to flex a bit too much. But everything else in this kit is beautifully built and precision machined. Would I buy it again? Yes! Would I recommend it to other people who have direct injection engines, ABSOLUTELY!. This may be a bit more expensive than other competing products, but from what I've read these folks did some serious engineering, to develop this product, and in my opinion, it's worth every single penny! ... show more

2011 F150 3.5 w/ 174k miles I bought this because I had some issues with my truck hesitating upon hard acceleration and was really sick and tired of the "Rough idle" . I changed the spark plugs and that helped, but this product eliminated the both problems entirely. As others have mentioned, super easy to install product quality is great if you are trying to preserve the longevity of your ECOBOOST and you don't have this installed you are missing the mark. well worth every penny IMO no need for the 300-dollar version they are all pretty much the same.     • Competitively priced with mostly good quality but a few minor complaints.
The oil catch kit was easy to install (2019 F150 3.5L GTDI) and the instructions are excellent (need one update in my opinion....see below). My rating is 4/5 because of four items I would have preferred to be better. 1. The clips and bolts appear to have an inexpensive coating vs. The factory finishes. Looks like phosphate and oil. I am concerned they will rust quickly. I will be watching for that. 2. The catch can is a beautiful component but is mounted to an inexpensive and somewhat weak bracket. The bracket is a thin gauge, does appear to be e-coated which is good, but lacks stiffness and can be bent during service if you lean on it too much. I actually easily bent mine by hand after installing it because it was not vertical (due to the battery tray, not because of the bracket.) That said, after a week it appears to not be moving under road loads. 3. The instructions do not call for any threadlocker on the screws that hold the can to the bracket. I recommend this be done as the screws are too short to use lock washers. 4. The hoses and fittings are good quality but the generic nature of the kit ( covers multiple engines) means that the hose routing cannot be done without contact (wear through concerns) on other parts. Both of my hoses have two contact points that I will need to watch over time. ... show more

Super easy it install. My 2013 F150 3.5l ecoboost was struggling after idle warmup. I also had a sound like a relay clicking around the intercooler. A new pcv valve would fix it for a while, but the vapors kept clogging the pcv valve. I drilled a small hole in the intercooler jug on the drivers side, and a bunch of orangish goo and oil came out (YouTube video) This has solved the problem for good! Great product. Feels like billet aluminum. Good seal on gasket. If you cant understand the instructions, YouTube it! Easy. The 90° elbow goes on the pcv, the 45° elbow goes on the intake. The bracket was kind of useless for my truck but with a little fabrication, perfect. Super happy with this purchase. If you have an Eco Boost, this is mandatory! It WILL foul your sensors with out it! Amazon Prime, badda bing, bodda boom, here in two days ... show more

After reading the top 5 performance upgrades for the Ford F-150 Ecoboost I decided to purchase the JLT oil separator. It installed in 30 minutes or less with hardly any tools required. It's constructed of high quality material and built to last. The photo is after 1 month and as you can see the canister is nearly full of oil that would normally be injected right back into the intake. I was amazed at how quickly it filled and will check it more periodically. Great product, great price.....must have for F150 Ecoboost owners ... show more
