  • Worked great to patch a nasty hole in an exhaust manifold.
Style: Wrap
I was unable to get a part for my Polaris Ranger, even ordering several different part numbers I kept getting the incorrect part, often different part numbers that were identical to each other. I used the Exhaust weld to repair the part I was planning on replacing, it works fantastic. Make sure you wear the gloves when you put it to use. It's very like an old school plaster cast, you goop the stuff into the fibers of the patch and wrap as tightly as you can. Then wrap with the aluminum tape and leave overnight. It sealed up the big holes in the exhaust manifold and seems to be working perfectly. Again, wear and apron and wear the gloves. Have fun and patch up what's broke!! ... show more

  • It was hard to apply, but it does seal well.
Style: Wrap
Better than tigerpatch, higher temp rated. But much much harder to install. Get dishwashing gloves because the ones they provide don't have long enough sleeves and you will get some of this toxic stuff on your wrists. I was having to wrap this in a very tight space, and it was very difficult. I'm pretty dexterous but it was tough. A lot tougher than you'd imagine. It likes to unravel and then fall into a dusty spot... not great. I used some of the extra goo in the pack to put around it, seems like the wetter the better. I ran the motor for 20 mins and it sealed completely. We will see how long this lasts. I'll update when it comes off and what mileage I got. But I have to say, this was very difficult to apply. -First small edit: I've had this installed for a week so far, and I've really been driving it around like a dog- lots of WOT up to 6-8k rpm. The patch is holding. I think if it held through this type of abuse, that it's going to last a while. If or when it comes loose, I'll try to order another one and be more careful this time when applying. I just cant afford exhaust work right now, and this is helping keep the fumes out of the cab. Quite literally a life-saver, with that being considered, I guess. ... show more

  • Worked well in use, easy to apply. .
Style: Wrap
So what if it is a little messy...it should be so plenty of material for the cloth tape. They give a set of gloves for the hands and spread a little paper under your work and not a problem! This was my second purchase of this product for a hacked together exhaust for my portable generator to get the exhaust [ported out of the garage. Fist kit used and I let it set and it cured at Washington State ambient summer temperature. Last week there was a power failure and i finally used my get and the kit/patch held up just fine, though the aluminum tape came right off with the heat the wrap did not. But the pipe blew off in another spot so my second kit is to secure that splice. This time I used a heat gun to cure the wrap and did not bother with the aluminum tape. The wrap cured very quickly with the heat gun, it is not summer anymore so the extra heat was a good idea. Looking forward to the next power failure, I think I have it nailed! Great product J-B Weld! ... show more

  • Quiet Cat!
Style: Wrap
If your exhaust leak is in a tight spot, which most are, this product is difficult to use. Imagine loosing grip of the roll of mesh and have a goopy drippy mess dangling in your face. However, after a thorough cleaning with a wire brush and 36 grit sandpaper, I did manage to get it wrapped around the crack the developed between the catalytic converter and the pipe. The enclosed aluminum tape? Forget it. Use it for something else. Smooth the repair over good with your hands. Take the pouch it came in and squeeze the remaining compound out like its the very end of your last tube of toothpaste and slather that over the repair are well, massaging it into the mesh, I didn't like the idea of starting the engine and letting it cure with exhaust heat either. Let it cold cure for a couple hours, start the engine and let it run for about 10 minutes, then let it cool off. Then take the vehicle for a short easy drive. Keep your foot out of it to avoid a blowout. Let it completely cool off again, then its business as usual. So far I can't speak for the longevity of this product. I drove it a couple of times, and then it passed the safety inspection. Yesterday I ran the truck pretty hard for about 20 miles, and so far so good! I think the key to a long lasting repair with this product is starting with a clean surface that has been scored to promote better adhesion, and giving it a slow gradual curing with a heat and cool/expansion and contraction cycles. UPDATE: Unless you're just trying to get thru a state inspection, better think twice about this product. I put a little over 100 miles on the truck local driving and it held up OK, but yesterday I took it on a 300 mile road trip. By the time I got home it was getting noisy again. BUT, it did get me thru PA state inspection. I don't have to worry about fixing it until warm weather gets here again. ... show more

  • Worked great!
Style: Wrap
Worked great, I had a exhaust leak coming from a flange point. After using the tape the exhaust leak was gone. I would recommend getting 2 if you are going around a flange. I only got 1 and it did the job but couldn't get the full coverage I wanted. The gloves it comes with are kind of cheap, I had one rip on me as I was putting it on. Make sure to have an extra set of latex gloves just in case ... show more

I drive a nissan pathfinder. I got a small hole in the catalytic converter it was just noisey. So I gave this a shot. It works awesome I guess i only got 3 wraps around, but my vehicle is now quiet again. I have another small hole close to the muffler. I think im gonna get some more and fix it good. I have no idea how long this holds, but for now its awesome and easy to use. The gloves that come with it are xl, because I use xl gloves at work ... show more
