First off, it's relatively easy to assemble by yourself. The instructions are easy to follow and you get one extra of each piece of hardware. You really only need a Philip's head screw driver but a cordless drill will make it much easier. It's made from the usual furniture pressboard and the coating is very nicely done. All the pre drilled holes lined up perfectly and there's no mismatched edges. It's mostly very solid with the exception of the lift up panel (which is why I didn't rate it 5 star). The hinges are connected on each end by 6 very short screws. It's mildly wobbly as you raise and lower it and I don't think it will take much abuse before one or both hinges come loose. All in all its an attractive well made piece as long as you're careful with raising and lowering the shelf. ... show more

This table is very useful in front of the sofa. I use the upright part for computer work or eating. There is a lot of storage space. It's done well, but it's hard to put together. The edges are very sharp - easily scratched when bumped. So I added soft tissue protection strips around its edges to keep my kids from bumping into it. This is a great looking table once you have it all set up. Would have been nice to have the screwdriver included to build it, but that is a small thing really. My issues with it are I feel like it won't last too long. As a solid table it might be fine but where you put the hinges on is a bit wobbly and the screws you get are so small that I worry about them coming out after a little use. On mine there was a gap where there shouldn't have been a gap when closing the table meaning it wasn't machined fully right. A few holes were a fraction of an inch off witch didn't effect much, but if this table had been any bigger it might of thrown a lot of dimensions off just enough that it wouldn't work very well. I started building this with my screwdriver and it was quite wobbly, so I took my impact driver around it and tightened everything up very tight and now it feels a lot better. I really hope that my experience with the tolerances and the gap being on the table is just a manufacturing error, maybe one piece got cut too short? As far for how easy it is to put together... It is much easier to do with two people as you are building it upside down and how you screw in the legs, it is MUCH easier to do with another persons help. I have built many things like this and on a scale of 1-10 (1 being easiest and 10 being hardest) on how hard it is to build alone I would give it a 6. Its about average but due to the legs and having to flip it I would suggest another person to help, but could be done by yourself with a bit of extra patience. This is something I would be willing to build again at some point and test if the quality and tolerances have gotten any better, or if they do anything to help secure the hinges better, but as of this point at the time of this review I would likely get a different product. For $120 (at time of review) there are a lot of good options to look at on amazon and until at least one of those two issues is addressed, I would look elsewhere. ... show more

This modern addition to my living room is cute, pretty sturdy. It would be better to use two hands to open and close the table, as it could become loose after wear and tear. My grown son was able to put it together in no time. It has a lot of space on the inside so I can put my blankets in there for storage along with other items. I really like this table alot. It is nice and sleek and can pair well with any type of decor. I love the fact that the top of the table raises up to a different Gm height which is perfect for using the computer while you sit on the couch. This is nice wood coffee table that rises on hinges and is great for eating off of and is the perfect height. Giant storage place when the table pulls up! Great storage for blankets and stuff.
