  • Great Buy
I actually bought this item from "Amazon Warehouse" used but "Like New" condition. When they say "Like New" it's pretty darn close. The compressor came in it's original box with all accessories in their original plastic package and the cords spooled up as if it came from the factory. I haven't yet seen a blemish on the unit itself. It really is in like new condition (and was $60 cheaper than a new unit from Amazon). This compressor is great. I was originally considering the Smart Jet (non-Pro) however what pushed me over is that if you lower the air pressure on the Smart Jet it achieves a lower pressure by a bleed valve which just lets the air run out. The result is that the auto-shutoff feature of the Smart Jet is then rendered useless and the compressor just runs constantly. This compressor however has a true regulator and you can decrease the pressure without loosing the auto-shutoff functionality. It also has a "protective case" around it. ---------------------------- Update October 2012 A year and a half later and the compressor is still doing great. I also have a larger shop compressor used for pneumatic tools, and compare to that this unit is way quieter. The tank fills up in about 30 seconds then it shuts off and is quiet. It's nice to be able to paint things at night, 10PM or 11PM, without worrying about how it will affect others in the house or the neighbor. If I had to buy another air brush compressor for some reason... well, I think I might just buy a 2nd one of these. ... show more

  • You get what you pay for.
I want to start out and say that I chose this after having a few other air compressors. This one is great. It holds the pressure steady. Even when it is running the pressure doesn’t drop between the built up pressure or the constant stream you may need for bigger print projects. The noise is really not bad at all. My spray booth makes a lot more noise than this one. ... show more

  • Great product and price, but wiring was loose.
Great item overall. HOWEVER packaging should have been better. One of the two wires that connect into the switch had fallen out and there is no easy way to access it. I had to figure it out with several pairs of tweezers, through the narrow slats for air flow. Glad I was able to at least SEE the issue, because I would have had to return it otherwise. ... show more

  • It's a beautiful unit
It's small, portable and is very much out of the way with its casing. Has an adjustable pressure regulator and comes with a plastic hose. Build quality is great. Does not have an air tank, instead it relies on having the pump kick in to maintain pressure as needed. Pulsing is not an issue. Noise is very much not an issue, it hits 55 Db on my reader. I would probably compare it to being somewhat quieter than talking to someone normally. ... show more

  • but I thought that was too good to be true anyway
So far I have 5 stars on this compressor. I have not painted with it yet, and will update this later once I do but,,, My first impressions are: * It is extremely quiet. I was right next to the thing in tests and it was not loud at all. I imagine someone in another room with the door closed would not even hear it. * The motor stops as soon as you stop pulling air, but does run continuous as you spray (no tank here which would have helped this) * You can drop the pressure as low as you want. No air bleed here to get the real low pressure. * It gets to max pressure in just a few seconds (40psi) * It does NOT come with an airbrush as the pictures above show, but I thought that was too good to be true anyway. * It DOES come with a thin rubberish hose (mine did), approx 6 ft. Enough to get you going and to determine if you want a longer or different hose. The one provided has a "coil" to it which would probably straighten out with use, but I prefer a braided hose that is harder to kink. * Pressure was able to get to 40 psi (idle pressure) * Working pressure for me (max) was 24-25 psi. I was using the IWATA Eclipse HP-CS brush which has a 0.35mm needle. I think smaller needles will give me higher working pressure. But not sure. I am very new to these things. * Its very light and with the handle very easy to move around. * Bleed valve to release excess water in filter is just a matter of pushing the bottom valve on the tank with your finger to release the liquid. (air comes out so be careful) ... show more

  • Hose arrived broken
It seems like a quiet, well-built unit but I didn't get a chance to use it the day it arrived because the included air hose had a pinhole in it. For the price it's pretty annoying that they cheaped out on a crucial part.

  • Best Compressor Ever!
Best compressor ever! I love my IWATA! Not to noisy and it's a workhorse! Will last even during hot humid gigs.
