The media could not be loaded. I attempted to use the product with a concoction of corn syrup and food coloring to get the consistency of blood. I was told by my instructor to just use water with red food coloring, because the other fluid is too thick and sticky to work properly. I flushed it out and it worked fine. Although it’s not the same as a blood, the points of the arm is to test your skills at venipuncture and iv placement. It works perfectly for that. When placing an IV catheter I got flash. And when drawing blood I was able to get a full vial. And….. I passed my skills final!!!!

I am using this product for online labs since covid-19 is restricting us from being on site. It has been great for doing demonstration videos and practicing IV insertion. The only thing I haven't figured out is the best way to clean it. The outer skin material is a soft rubber and I can't get the tape adhesive off of it completely after practice. I am happy with it and expect it will really improve my confidence before we get back to clinicals.

This thing is awesome! My biggest fear as a skill to learn in nursing school was to give IVs. This arm helped me be more confident, and also helps me practice whenever I’d like. The skin is a little tuff. But i think it makes a great practice model! I would highly recommend this to any student in the medical field to practice on. It’s a great value for the price.

*update the seller reached out to me to make things right.. review updated* This looks like a decent product but once I opened the box and got to feeling for veins I noticed several puncture marks as if this arm had already been used. And the flash aspect wasn't working correctly. I bought it as new so I'm very disappointed.

I bought this in hopes it would help me learn IVs and butterflies before actually sticking a real person. My hubby is an oncology nurse so he helped show me how to do my techniques, but the feel was really similar to the real thing. I’ve been told I’m a “natural” at IVs, but truly I think it’s because I used this! I highly recommend it and I suggest looking up techniques on YouTube or ask help from a friend who is a nurse or phlebotomist. You do need to buy iv supplies though or grab some from a job that you’re at if you can so you can practice. Oh and you can put any color food coloring to make it more fun. We use green to make a hulk arm more fun lol
