I've built a half-dozen book nooks from various companies, but this one stands alone and apart from all the rest. It's a meticulous, detailed kit that would do nothing but cause frustration for anyone expecting a light and easy project to fill a few hours. This kit takes a minimum of 40 hours to complete. The pieces are tiny, fragile, and require great care to position and glue correctly. There are dozens of sub-assemblies to complete before the final project starts to take shape. The instructions are really not that bad, but because of the small size of many of the pieces and the difficulty of illustrating every little thing, there are periods of time where you need to carefully test fit everything and then not glue until you're able to tell later precisely if you did the work correctly. This is not a project for a kitchen table top where kids are running by and other activities need to be done -- this is best done in a quiet hobby room, under good light, with some relaxing music, and perhaps a glass of wine ... but not two glasses of wine. If you put in the time and care and really pay attention, the reward is a book nook unlike anything else. It's theme and the level of detail really set it apart from the crowd. You'll be deeply proud of your work and want to show it off to others as one of the year's really memorable accomplishments. But brace yourself for a long commitment to a project that could easily spill over several weeks of evenings.

Super cute!! Extremely satisfying to put together. Functional doors and lights are super fun on it as well as the glass rack that you can take and put glasses on. It is relatively easy to assemble but definitely use the assembly tool. It comes with one so that you don’t hurt your fingers! I usually use a quick dry nail glue as these do not come with glue.

My first 3D puzzle, and now I'm obsessed. It's not too complicated, the pieces are sturdy, and I'm having a great time putting this together. Glue is not included, so make sure you have super glue on hand. I didn't have any when I first got it, and tried using hot glue. The pieces didn't stick, so I got super glue and worked like a charm. Go slow, and really study the directions, and you will be fine. It really looks great when finished

This was my first time doing one of these and I did the "Book Collection" room. I found the quality to be fantastic, the detail amazing and when it all goes together, it's really whimsical. I did just realize after coming back here to write this review, that I missed a small step, but it doesn't bother me. I wondered why I still had some pieces left over, lol. I put this together in 10 hrs straight. Instructions were pretty easy to follow, but a couple times it was a head scratcher trying to interpret what the makers wanted you to do. I should of had a magnifying glass to better see the "this notch goes into this hole" direction lines the instructions use. A couple of times those lines sort of blended into the step. Still, it was fun. I had no issues getting the pieces out of their boards. There is a piece included on a board to help remove pieces, that I found after I was done with assembly. I only broke one small piece during assembly, which was towards the end and I was just getting tired. Thankfully It was easy to fix and you can't tell. Things I would have for this build: Glue (I used clear superglue and a toothpick as an applicator and I glued most pieces) Magnifying glass (to better see instructions) Brown Sharpie (to fill in the small lines the show after assembled, where the pieces were attached to their boards) Batteries I will be doing another one of these kits, but next time I will force myself to break assembly up into multiple 4 hour blocks. Pro Tip: assemble this on a large table with plenty of room, as all the boards that have the individual pieces for assembly are lettered A through J. Lay the boards out in alphabetical order, making it super easy to find what you're looking for when needed, especially when pieces are needed from multiple different boards. A couple of the very small books, have known titles like Lord of the Rings. Put those book in places where they will be seen like on the desk or stool at the front of the model. Have fun

The media could not be loaded. This took me 9 hours to complete. I used hot glue for it all because the superglue I had was not good(no glue included). The directions were really good(like a step by step Lego set...but with wood. The only thing that wasn't 100% clear was where to glue the lights and which way to face the pices of the ladder when putting it together. Some pieces were hard to put together but it came with a nail file to make it easier. For the lights, you turn it on and the motion sense will leave it on for a sec and then it will go off with no movement. Love that! Highly recommend. But do it over time. My fingertips were hurting after.
