I am not loving these. First, the maximum volume level is indeed very limited... too limited, IMO. Protecting my hearing is fine, but that also should be partly on me. I have to max out the volume just to get it to be decently hearable, and anything less than complete isolation from outside sounds, which isn’t realistic, makes the experience unsatisfactory. They need to have a couple more steps upward. There’s too much nanny-Ing here. Second, while you may pair these with more than one device, you cannot really CONNECT them to more than one device. Connecting to the 2nd device disconnects the 1st. I realize that that is at least partly due to Bluetooth limitations... in that you cannot play from more than one device at a time. However, I have headphones that connect to more than one device and switch between connections based on whichever initiated a sound stream last... such that I can listen to a movie on a tablet and it will switch to my phone when a call comes in. Moreover, since these can be paired separately, you would think that they‘d at least have the potential to play from two devices simultaneously... one stream from each, but, sadly, they do not. I did once manage to get two devices to stay connected, and it did play from one of the devices/bud, but the 2nd connection/bud wouldn’t actually play, remaining silent... so I put that down to a glitch that didn’t really work, unfortunately. Pairing a second device is also a bit of an ordeal, and the manual is of no help in this regard. From my working with them awhile, they only seem to pair when first turned on and then only if they’re not able to immediately connect to another device first. So, turn off other devices beforehand. Also, when pairing, pay attention to which bud you’re pairing to and ignore/cancel/reject any pairing attempts from the other bud—it’s apt to fail anyway, but you don’t need the second bud junking up your device’s connection list. Lastly, regarding the fit, I’m using the largest foam tips supplied and they only isolate correctly if I first insert them sorta backwards and then twist them to the correct position, making sure to twist in the direction that keeps them tight on the bud. Otherwise, if I just do the pinching thing and insert them straight in, the fit is poor and I can still hear pretty much everything from my surroundings. Twisting them in gives me that muffled, ear-pluggy feeling, but by no means does it block out everything—I can still hear my phone or a hand clap—and I don’t really expect them to either... nothing does this. Thus, back to my first point, it’s unlikely to isolate enough that I can clearly hear dialog from whatever I am streaming over the loudness of a table saw or other noisy tool/machine I am using due to the overly limited volume. I haven’t had these long enough to say anything about the battery life... I do like the recharging case. But if they prove to fall short of or exceed significantly what they claim, I’ll update this review.

Got these for use in an ag plane, where it's standard practice to use ear plugs and then a headset on top of them because they're so noisy. I've used several ANC aviation headsets and wired NPR earbuds, and these are a nice option to have available. They're pretty comparable to wired NPR earbuds and fit under a helmet just as well, some wireless earbuds are so big that you can't get them under a helmet comfortably, but these fit entirely inside my ear and don't press against anything. I'd assume this is also a common problem for motorcyclists, so this might be a good fit in that situation as well. I was a little worried reading some of these reviews about how they're not loud enough to hear in noisy environments, but they were clear and I rarely if ever had to turn the volume to max (usually for audiobooks when the narrator was talking softly or an audio file that was ripped with low volume). After a solid 8hrs of use, they do start to become a little painful, and that's to be expected with pretty much anything for that length of time. Battery life is every bit as much as expected, possibly more but I've never tested them to see. No complaints with phone calls outside of high noise environments (driving on the highway still has good quality), and everyone has been able to hear me well. Don't expect to make calls in high noise environments or when wearing a helmet, it just won't work. The only thing I wish they had was an ambient mode so I could hear around me when I'm not in a high noise environment. When I get back down on the ground and need to talk to the ground crew, or if I'm just using them around the house, it would be useful to just tap an earbud and be able to hear people talking to me. Oh, and the silicon tip has gotten stuck in my ear a few times and I had to get tweezers to pull it out, that kinda sucks. Some rubber cement might fix that, but it's only happened a few times when I pulled the earbuds out at a weird angle.

This is the second pair of these I've bought now. There is a very good reason I'd buy the same thing twice. They are awesome! With the work I do there are some jobs where I have to wear ear plugs all day for weeks on end. All 12 hour hot sweaty dirty headache inducing day. With these bad boys it's much easier because I have tunes to help me get through. As long as I put them in the case to recharge some during my 30 minutes of lunch I have comfort and tunes all day. That can mean the world to me. Sometimes I wish they would go louder but I realize that's part of how they last and are OSHA approved. And too many times I've had THAT safety guy on a job making them being approved not only necessary but oh so satisfying when safety asks thinking they caught me up on something. If you know then you know that that feeling alone is worth every penny 😈. Oh and by the way the other pair lasted like 2 or 3 years I think. That's pretty impressive in my line of work!
