This is the International Version, even though the ISBN for the US version leads toy to this one, which has a totally different ISBN. I can't find any info on the differences, but I'm not pleased to have had to look carefully into their description to see it noted. The white international edition banner across the top of the book is obvious to me now that I have the book in my possession and am 4 weeks into the class, but it was not evident when I ordered the book on my phone after searching the ISBN for the US edition on Amazon. To be clear, the book has its own, separate ISBN, but who would think to check that when Amazon sends you to this edition, the photo appears to be of the correct book, and the headlining description doesn't mention that it's International, not US? Also, the US version listing from the publisher, where I obtained the ISBN, doesn't mention that there is an international version. BTW, our instructor is new and failed to tell us it was part of the class materials until the end of the 1st week of class, so I blame the his dept for not ensuring that he was set up correctly, but that's an entirely different issue and not related to my 3 star rating. ... show more

This was shown as a paperback copy under the purchasing options I chose.. but it is not paperback.. it is literally just paper.. loose paper.. 160$ worth of paper... Like I ordered it from kinkos or something.. I see that the title says loose leaf.. but I clicked paper back.. So I was expecting a Paperback copy.. Who knows though.. Maybe I'll like having my book in a binder.. I have classes now and can't wait to get another copy and such.. so we will see how this goes.. If I end up liking this I'll give more stars.. but for now 1 star as I chose paperback copy and got loose leaf.. ... show more

Format: Paperback
This book is very broad. Instead of going over things, there is a lot of bullet points, just stuff listed. Plus the book does not go over concepts well at all. Then the pictures do not go with the text, and do not better one's understanding. Just full of fluff and another money grab by McGrawHill that the colleges will gobble up and put that cost on their students. Lastly there are no numbers, and equations like you would expect an engineering book to have. Hence this book is about equivalent to a magazine. ... show more
