  • (almost) absolutely excellent
I really have to admit that i love this book. After almost 25 years of not working with electronics after finishing college, it got me up to speed in no time (no time is relative as i worked through the whole book and did all and every exercise, so it nonetheless took a few months). It explains every topic in detail and the exercises force you into deeply thinking about it and working out your own solutions which in turn are derivations of the given information, so you build up not only a skill in electronics but also in problem solving. I would love to give 5 stars, but unfortunately the proofreading done to the book could be improved. There are many typos in it and sometimes also words are interchanged (example: In one of the exercises the author meant voltmeter, but ammeter is written instead). Sometimes makes you doubt oneself until you realize it's the books fault. Nevertheless, buy this book if you have serious intentions in building up skills in electronics. But be also aware that this book only covers the basics (as the title says) and does not dig into advanced topics. Howerver, there is another book by the same author which does (Electronic Devices by Floyd), but it assumes the basic knowledge gained by studying this book first ... show more

  • Book spine scratched up
I bought this new and when I received it the spine of the book was ripped up and there are deep scratches on the back of the book.

  • Item Arrived Very Late
The product itself was okay, but after arriving 1 week late after 2 had already passed, I was not happy. Customer service did not help much, as I had to resubmit almost every detail about the order, and even then I was not provided any way to see where my package was. Very unhappy.
