I am so impressed, even with all the great reviews I didn't expect to be so thoroughly pleased. These are beautiful. Even the backing boards have woodgrain pattern so there are no ugly spots. I would not trust it without the wall mount bracket so the back will never show,but still it is a nice touch. I am so tempted to buy more for possible future needs🤣 It took me about 20 minutes to put each one together. The parts all have stickers so you can tell them apart which was essential for ease, and all of the stickers are placed strategically so you wouldnt even have to remove them if you weren't inclined to because they wouldn't show. Absolutely beautiful bookshelves that are very sturdy and extremely easy to build. One of the best features of these bookshelves is that the backs are individual pieces instead of the long solid cardboard piece of most bookshelves. These are slid into slits instead of hammered in.

The book shelves are great, and assembly was overall OK - removed a star because the tool to install the hardware (an Allen wrench with a Phillips head fitting on the long side) made the assembly much more difficult than it needed to be, especially in the tight corners of the shelves. This product experience would be 100% with that minor hardware change to help speed up the process. ... show more

I recommend turning it upside down and using the plastic pieces, that are meant to support the back, to put under the shelves for added support. In the second picture is a different shelf made of the same material, put together the same way that I assembled seven years ago. Granted the old shelf is about three inches longer and four inches wider which makes some difference. As you can see the weight of the school books eventually caused the board to break around the screws. The screws IN it don't support weight as well as the supports placed under the shelf do. Also you can see humidity caused my old shelf to bow, but again these new shelves are shorter both ways so that will greatly curb that problem both because they're more compact and necessarily will not be bearing as much weight either. The back has a unique design that better helps to support the weight of the shelves as well. Use one plastic piece for a spacer as seen in the first picture, because once the screw grabs, it pulls the plastic support down just a little. But starting it with just that little bit of allowance makes the fit more perfect. All in all I love these matching shelves. They are beautiful and hold a lot. I expect them to last for well over a decade. Keep in mind that I live in the southeast where the humidity is often over 60% during the summer even with central air, so nothing made of particle board is going to last long. During the same week, I also built a heavier shelf of solid wood boards that will last 50+ years, but it was twice as expensive. Each serves their separate purposes well.🙂 ... show more

Very solid bookcases, much better than the cheap ones I used to get at Walmart (no offense, Walmart, they just fall apart after a year or so). They'll take some time to put together, so you might wanna get someone to help you out, but it's solid wood held together by metal screws and reinforced on the back with binders. You can manhandle these things and they won't fall apart. They'll definitely last you a good while. The only thing I would emphasize is that if you're used to having bookcases where you can adjust the spacing of the shelves, these will not do that. Once they're screwed in, they're not moving, so be aware you might be limited to having large items sitting inside the bookcases. Other than that, these bookcases are great. Very much worth the money. I'm going to be ordering a few more pretty soon to go around my house. ... show more
