This bookcase requires assembly. The kit included all the tools needed for assembly. The process was odd as the two halves are assembled separately and then put together. The outside edges are pieced together instead of being one continuous piece. The end panels are made from smaller pieces connected vertically. This makes the assembly harder and reduces the sturdiness and durability of the shelves. Also, one of the mounting nuts was missing so instead of all 12 connectors we only have 11. The shelves are offset so that the left and right side are not at the same level. This gives an asymmetrical look to the bookcase. There are also doors that break up the shelves. They are easy to open and close, but there aren’t any pads or felt squares to dampen the doors, so that they don't slam shut. Unfortunately, because of the way the shelves are designed and pieced together, it doesn’t seem very sturdy. It is also quite tall and didn’t come with a wall anchor to keep it from falling over if bumped or climbed on by a child. This is a real safety issue.

This is a pretty unique bookcase that was pretty repetitive so it went together pretty easily. It probably took about an hour or so, but the end result was pretty good so I'm happy. I wouldn't say that it will last multiple moves though because it does flex when you pick it up. A 4x8 sheet of backing board would help take that out though if you ever wanted to. So, for the price, I'd say it's okay, but would still recommend looking around before buying.

I am impressed by the instruction manual. The instructions were very easy to follow and all the pieces came together easily. There are holes already pre-drilled that make everything simple to screw and slide. All the pieces were labeled and packed nicely without any damage. This will probably take a couple hours or a little longer to put together with all the pieces. There are screws afterwards that you can see on the outside but this does come with stickers so you can cover them. The stickers don't go over them very easily because the screws are not set into the board but slightly sticking out. I love the rattan design and these easily lift up and slide back into the shelf. This set comes with everything you will need to put this together. I have put many shelves and different furniture pieces together but this was the easiest. The measurements from the seller look correct.

Super cute and decorative shelf. It took a while to put together, but I’m sure it was just me. The instructions are very thorough and helpful throughout the whole process. Holds a bunch of items and even has covered shelves. Super sturdy and I haven’t noticed any teetering since I’ve put it up. Solid cute and a great decoration for the home. A great price for a very nice bookshelf.

Assembly was quick—under three hours—and the process was straightforward, thanks to the clearly labeled parts.
