I was going to leave a semi negative review but I decided to run an experiment instead. I filled the bottle with about two inches of regular ice cubes from the freezer almost emptied the ice maker but a handful of cubes were left in the tray. After adding my water I set out to sip about 5 times an hour just for continuous temp checks after all this experiment is about how long the bottle stays cold not about hydration. Ice cubes lasted until the 24 hour mark. It is the 25th hour and as expected it is still ice cold. I have not added more water because I don’t want to change the results of the experiment. 29:55:23 water has a noticeable temperature difference but just a step above ice cold. 37:13:01 Experiment stopped upon waking water still has a decent chill and is not yet “warm”. Experiment was stopped because I lost access to the water bottle and cannot ensure results. In summary get the bottle and probably one of those bring rectangle ice molds! I love the company they have decent prices and the product does what it says it will do. I hope this review helps anyone who wants to start drinking a gallon of water a day and is wondering “I wish there was a water bottle that can hold a gallon”. Side note: its a gallon of water with ice in a hunk of metal it has some weight to it, so use it for hydration and weight training. Good seal, I love F’s colors, comes with two lids, and it’s a water bottle you don’t have to be a rocket scientist to figure it out.

It’s a very big water bottle. Much bigger than I expected but I’m extremely satisfied with the quality. The handle is sturdy and bulky and considering the size of the bottle it’s not as heavy as you’d expect it to be. I’m a huge fan of this brand the quality of their water bottles is great! I’ve had a smaller version of this bottle for about two years now and it’s still in great condition despite being dropped quite often. My only complaint is that this bigger bottle only comes in black but it’s still perfectly functional and exceeds my expectations.

My daughter laughs at me when I visit because I bring my own water. This is the second one I've purchased (first from Amazon). They keep your liquid cold forever! Whenever I go anywhere, especially during the summer, I take water. This doesn't leak even with tipped over.

Iron Flask has this figured out. They have done an excellent job making insulated beverage holders. But this monster will never leave you thirsty. I generally put in 3-4 cups of ice and upwards of 10 cups of water. Pretty solid for a day. Ice holds well and retains cold temp as advertised or better. I can’t say anything about hot drinks because when will I ever need a gallon of hot drinks? Lmao But seriously. I provided some pics just so ya have a size comparison. I can easily place my 32oz version straight inside this beast.

Outstanding water jug. "Clicker" handle that holds in place with slight retention rather than just aimlessly flopping to the side all the time. The spout cap has ridges so easier to open with wet hands (beach day!), and holds ice for a long time. Great jug.

Well done Ironflask. This really looks as well made as Hydroflask or Yeti. Well nearly, pretty close. The handle probably needs a beef up but this is half the price of the other two. I have quite a few Ironflask items now and they last well. The designs are so cool. Make the handle more heavyweight and you would get an extra star.

I did extensive research to find the best gallon sold on Amazon and I haven’t found anything better. Before getting into the details of this particular bottle, I will say having a gallon size bottle truly does make it easier for you to stay hydrated throughout the day. Convenience and having a more sturdy and permanent bottle (I was just using a plastic $1 gallon jug from Walmart at the time…) to drink from were important factors for me when shopping. In terms of the bottle, a few things I noticed while using it for the last few months: 1. You want the cap with a straw. I believe Ironflask sells one with and one without - make sure you get one with the straw cap.. I actually bought a different 1 gallon bottle and returned it for this one because of this very reason. The straw makes drinking out of this so much easier - with a pour lid, you have to constantly unscrew the cap and pick the heavy gallon jug up towards your mouth which can get messy/annoying. Some bottles will give you a long straw that you can just put into the bottle but I found that to be cumbersome and not very sanitary given you had to touch the straw all the time. 2. As some reviewers have noted, it’s best to open and close the lid by the base of the lid and not the handles. Using the handles may lead to the handles breaking. I have used mine everyday and have not found any wear 3. Nothing to complain about regarding insulation. I’ve taken this thing out to the field on a hot day and it has kept my water cold the entire time. But I have not done any particular experimentation on how long it stays cool.. check some of the other reviews 4. Easy to clean - the wide mouth of the bottle makes it pretty easy to clean. It’s important to be able to clean this thing often 5. One downside is that it doesn’t come with a rubber sleeve for the bottom of the bottle like some of the other brands. Not a deal breaker but given the size and weight of the bottle, it can get scratched and dinged up if are just putting it down carelessly. All in all a great bottle for the price. Some of the other name brands like yeti and hydro flask charge +$100 for something similar.. no way I’d pay that much especially if I can get something like this with the same functionality at a fraction of the price.
