This truly keeps food HOT! I left my lunch bag in my car and the temp was in the teens that day. I came out 4 hours later to eat lunch. I was surprised. Utterly shocked. Not only was my food warm still, it was too hot for me to eat some of it. I don’t know why I was shocked, because their mugs are just as amazing. I’m keeping it at 5 stars despite one problem I have with it. The spoon. It doesn’t lock, so if you pull the spoon one direction, it tries to close on you. There also is no place to connect the spoon to the container. It would be nice if there was a spot on the top or side to attach the spoon. Don't put it in the fridge with hot soup inside. The soup had cooled down for an hour before the jar got filled so it wasn't even THAT hot, and 12+ hours later it exploded in the fridge. I don't know why it was put in the fridge, but the same thing could happen outside at a cold worksite.

I use this for lunch at work some times. I also lent it to my nephew a few times for school lunch. You just pre heat it with boiling water let it rest a few min; while you do that heat up your food in the microwave or once you've emptied and dried the thermos load the food in while it is VERY hot.
