  • We really put it through the ringer
I was shopping for a SUP that I could take on the river, since my family mostly goes kayaking and canoeing. After much research I picked the irocker nautical SUP, because of its shape (pointed nose), weight (under 20 lbs), 3 detachable fins, D-rings for kayak seat, and great back pack. It was also the brand that I saw reviewed the most in the "best budget SUP" lists. This past Sunday, we took it out to a new stretch of a new river. I initially put it in with all 3 fins. It definitely tracked better when I was sitting and using it with my kayak seat than when I used it as a stand-up board, but I think it would have been better had I paddled standing without the seat attached as I would have been able to stand further back on the board. The detachable fins were a life saver as we ended up carrying the boats almost as much as paddling in them. The large, middle fin is definitely too big to be used in shallow water or over rapids. The two smaller side fins also became stuck in the sand as the river trickled down to barely 4 inches. We also encountered many, many downed trees and the carry handles on the front, middle, and back, made carrying the paddle board a breeze (especially compared to the sit-on-top kayaks). The board is rated at about 240 lbs, but my daughter (110 lbs) and I (137 lbs) were able to share the board, kayak seat, and 2 paddles with no problem. Considering what we put the board through (scraping, shoving, dragging, mud, etc.) it held up really well. It did get some scratches on the top grey part where we sit. This could have been caused by tree branches or by my dog's paws. Nevertheless, it did great, and tracked surprisingly well even without the fins when we used it sitting down with a kayak paddle. Maneuverability was excellent, which was key as we were in some very tight spots. The ankle leash came in handy when I had to tether my paddle board in order to help others with their boats. The storage area was helpful and we even used it to keep the paddles in place as we ported the board over and under trees. The pump was efficient and relatively easy to use, but make sure you read the extra directions about the fact that it does not register pressure until you get to 7 psi, and then you have to adjust the pump to switch to a different method of inflation (just an easy removal of a plug) The only down side is that the paddle does not come with an option to make it a kayak paddle. That would have been nice to have so I didn't have to travel with 2 paddles. Otherwise, it performed really well. I look forward to trying it on a lake so I can get a better sense of how it performs in flat water with no current. ... show more

  • Buy this board! You won’t regret it!
I did a lot of research before buying a board. IRocker is a very good, reliable brand. I absolutely love my Nautical board and here’s why: Durability: This board and everything included with it (bag, pump, fins) are extremely durable. I’ve taken my board on lakes and in the sound of the Outer Banks. It hasn’t been “beaten up” but I haven’t gone easy on it though. I accidentally ran over my big fin (see pic) with my minivan and it didn’t even crack. Still in perfect condition albeit with tire marks. Ease of use: The Nautical board is super easy to inflate, deflate, roll up and store. It’s also easy to maneuver in the water and I prefer my 10 foot Nautical board to my daughter’s 8 foot board. Accessories: The bag that is used to store the board is durable and of good quality. It fits everything in there easily and can withstand the weight of the board and items it comes with. The hand pump is actually a really good pump. Due to me feeling out of shape after pumping, I did invest in the electric pump from iRocker. It does take awhile before the gage registers the psi. This is NORMAL. The pump is not broken. Just because the board looks pumped to full capacity before the gage registers 14 psi does not mean it’s ready. Keep pumping! The last psi is a bit challenging. The fins are extremely good quality! They are thick and very durable. They will not easily break and are not flimsy like I’ve seen from other fins on other boards. The paddle is easily adjustable and is just as durable as everything else from iRocker. Weight limit: The weight limit is perfect for my family. I have been able to haul myself, my 6 year old and my 8 year old with no problems. Other features: The deck of the board is soft yet sturdy and doesn’t get slick. I have no problems keeping my balance. The straps on the front are great for keeping hold of my dry bag, water bottle, phone, etc. The metal rings all around the board are great for attaching items to your board or (in my case) towing your daughter’s board back to shore because she went to far out and got caught in the current. The design and colors are very attractive. All around I can’t say enough good things about my Nautical board! ... show more

  • Great inflatable paddleboard for a great price!
I have been looking for another iSup when I stumbled upon the irocker Nautical. It is a great all-around/beginners board for a great price! Comes with a strap, backpack, paddle, 3 fins (I was only expecting 1!), ankle strap and stickers/decals (wasn't expecting these, I love stickers!) Shipping was super fast! I expected it to arrive a week after I ordered - it arrived 2 days after I ordered it! The board sets up very easily. Fins snap into place like most other boards I have had experience with and 3 piece paddle is easy to put together. Board is easy to inflate by hand or electric air pump to 15 PSI. It takes about 10-15 minutes to inflate by electric pump, probably not that much more by hand. After inflating, board can be easily carried to the water by the middle handle. Not very heavy, but a bit bulky and if winds are high, might be some trouble carrying it inflated to or from the car. Board has three handles and all are useful for transporting! On the water, board is very sturdy and stable and glides over the water. Even with wake from motorboats, I was able to keep my balance easily. The paddle is lightweight and floats! There are plenty of D-rings on the board that are useful for attaching storage/bags. The bungee straps in the front perfectly secure my lifejacket and other accessories (water bottles, waterproof bag, phone). After getting off the water (I didn't sink! 😅), fins are easy to remove, board is easy to deflate, fold up and store in the included backpack along with ankle strap and paddle. I would highly recommend this board to anyone new to the sport of paddleboarding or anyone looking for another all-around paddleboard. ... show more
