The price was a good one, and I was not expecting hardwood but this is a bookcase that I only intended to put in a corner or in the hall for books that I had run out of space for in the other bookcase locations. It is sturdy enough and has the obvious amount of room. As for putting it together.....my son came and did that for me and he had no problems. If you want to store books rather than stack them on the floor...this is a good solution and the size can fit in a lot of places. You will like solving your book storage problem. ... show more

While not perfect, it’s very good for this price point. Pros: • Decently sturdy. I would NOT climb on it or anything, but it doesn’t buckle or collapse and the shelf boards are pretty thick. • Very compact. I would definitely recommend for someone in an apartment or dorm! It’s easy to tuck in a corner or under a loft bed. • Easy assembly! It took me maybe 30 min to build by myself and I’m not the best at building furniture. It did NOT come with a screwdriver, so you will need your own. Cons: •The paint chips very easily, it’s already got some chipping on the edges and corners from shipping and assembly. •It’s made of particle board so I’m not sure how long it will last and some of it is expose on the back so it may scratch walls/floors. In conclusion, I think it’s a great budget shelf! Good quality for the price. ... show more

This is nice for storage in a utility room, a dorm, or kids room. The doors are not very straight. But straight enough to properly close. I have it in my bathroom for extra storage. It works well. Get some some paint ready. The parts I received were not well painted.

This is one of the best pieces of furniture made out of pressed board I have purchased for the money. The shipping box and contents were well protected by Styrofoam and was not ripped open as has some of my other shipments purchased on Amazon. I blame the alternate carriers. The finish was good and the instructions and pre-drilled holes were spot on. Very little hardware with a few extra screws. I would have preferred a more sturdy back panel but it does go against a wall so that is a minor issue. I would have liked adjustable shelves but that would have weakened the cabinet. The doors snap in very cleverly and fit perfectly. Why so many appliances and furniture come out of China is disturbing, but I understand the production cost element. For an inexpensive small storage cabinet I give it a 5 star review and recommend to anyone who has a need to store widgets or cookbooks for a kitchen or soap and laundry items for a utility room. ... show more
