The shelf itself is perfect. It fits in the space perfectly, and is as durable as I needed to be able to store my gardening supplies. But it was the shipping process that was less than satisfactory. When ordered on 5/29, this shelf was expected to be delivered on 6/3. I did receive notice on 6/3 that it was delayed, but that it would arrive the following day. It didn't, and I finally received it on the 5th. I am an avid gardener and I start all of my own plants from seeds. I've been doing this for years and have my grow lights, heat mats, etc. I've always set the lights up on books and things and then added books as spacers as I needed to raise the lights. I finally just decided to go for it and do it up right! I'm using this shelf as a plant growing stand as you'll see in the picture. It is more than sturdy enough to support the lights and the weight of of the seedling trays. The wire shelves made it easy for me to fasten my light adjusting chains to the shelves with a simple S hook. My lights hook into those chains and I can adjust them up and down as needed. The shelf was pretty easy to put together. One thing that is not mentioned or shown in the instructions is that the plastic "clips" that fit on the uprights and that the shelves slide down on, have a top and bottom. If you look really closely at the clips they are stamped UP with an arrow. They have a smaller top and a larger bottom. The shelves slide onto the smaller top section and then wedge tightly to the larger bottom section when you push them on. Another great feature is the built-in levelers. Each of the uprights has a leveling foot built in to the bottom. After assembling your shelf, just put it it place and adjust the shelf so that it does not wiggle by using the leveling feet! No need to have to jam folded cardboard or other spacers in there to get it level and sturdy. One last thing; I looked and looked at shelves and most were chrome. Nothing wrong with that, I just wanted something a bit more subtle, so was delighted to find this shelf in black. ... show more

I have purchased 4-5 different shelf systems, I laid the parts out, marked the pieces, slowly and carefully put some parts together, I ended up just throwing it in the trash! I was really worried that with it being made of plastic it might not look good nor hold up well, but I was thankfully wrong on both accounts. I really needed something to help organize a corner of a rather small, old farmhouse kitchen. This shelf was perfect. Just what I needed. I've had egg cartons stacked in paper bags in an unsightly manner for months on end, and then I saw this shelf on sale and decided to give it a shot. I'm so glad I did, because I was able to arrange several items that I had crammed into small spaces.
