Bought the 48” shelf to store my 6-ton car jack stands in my garage. Love the look of stainless and shelf is rated for 280lbs. Pros: Shelf is solid and seems well made. Came with a protective film to avoid scratching during shipment. Very simple assembly and came with screws and drywall anchors. Cons: shelf is 48” wide, but support brackets that mount to the wall are not 48” apart. More like 47” apart. So even though I had two wall studs 48” apart, I could only use one of the wall studs for support. I had to use drywall anchors for the other end and just pray the drywall can hold it up. Also, the screw threads that are used to secure the support brackets to the shelf are very delicate. I used a ratchet to tighten them up, and the first time I did it the thread snapped right off. So I carefully tightened the rest and didn’t apply as much pressure. If you’re storing anything over 100lbs, and cannot screw directly into wall studs or some other strong support, I wouldn’t use this shelf as you’ll have to rely on drywall anchors. The shelf is very spacious. I ca store a lot of my kitchen items. I haven’t put them up yet because I’m waiting on my handyman to do the job. The shelves can hold a lot of weight so I want it to be perfectly installed. I think it’s going to look awesome and out of the ordinary. I’ll send pictures once they’re in place. Happy with purchase. Amazingly good quality. Very heavy steel. Hardware was useless for me as I had to install into the block. So pleased with the result. Did take me some time to remove the covering but it was perfect, no scratches or dents.
