Assembly wasn't difficult but the end result was a shelf that has visible defects. The shelves have little gaps between them and the sides. This is visible in the product images, so definitely not unique to me. The side panels appear to have their holes drilled without much precision because one of the panels sits almost flush with the top shelf, while the other rises about 1/8" above it. For my needs, these issues don't bother me. Nobody's going to be looking at this shelf anyway but I expected better from IRIS and would not recommend investing in these if you were planning to buy a whole set of them and wanted them to look nice when all lined up. These were made in China, unlike their plastic containers that are made in the USA. I guess particleboard furniture isn't their specialty or maybe that's just these shelves. I don't have regrets with the purchase because this was the only thing I could find that would fit my space well. If these don't hold up over time I will probably just build my own next time because there aren't that many options at this size. ... show more

When I was done assembling this, I came to realize that I probably need to go back to all of the reviews I've ever written about pre-fabricated furniture to deduct a star. I was very reluctant to purchase this for a few reasons. I really needed some sort of shelving unit that fit into my tiny space in the bathroom, and the options are very limited. It seems like every piece of furniture that looks like it would work has wasted space, primary in the form of a toilet paper dispenser. I don't want or need a toilet paper dispenser. I just need storage space. The price is very inexpensive for this unit, and that, believe it or not, was a deterrent. I was also deterred by the fact that the seller primarily sells plastic storage units, so I was very hesitant to trust a wooden storage shelf given how horrible the experience of putting together pre-fabricated furniture usually is. I could have assembled this without the instructions. It took me just a hair over ten minutes, and I needed just a screwdriver. The screws are high quality, and they hold in the wood quite securely. It was actually a pleasure working with screws that I didn't have to worry about stripping or overtightening. The instructions are actually very good, which is a nice contrast to what I'm used to. There are actually words on the instruction manual explaining what needs to happen. I don't care if the words are English or Spanish. If I can put them into Google Translator, they are better than not having any words at all. The product is very sturdy. I was a little concerned because the area I had to work with was just a hair over 8", and I didn't have the proper tool to measure how much the baseboard would effect it. The result is that the unit has just enough room to slide a couple of pieces of paper between it and the edge of the toilet cover. I couldn't have asked for a more perfect fit. My only complaint is that the floor in my bathroom isn't square, so I'll have to find a shim for the front right corner to keep it from clicking against the toilet constantly. This is an extremely good value. I actually went through the manufacturers different storage shelves to see if they had anything else that fit my needs. They do have some cool items, but nothing that I need at the moment. ... show more

This is your typical press board furniture, and is what you pay for, but this particular piece came with a big chip on the front and a crack at that spot. The chip wasn't in the package, so it probably left the factory that way. Poor quality control, maybe.

I bought 2 of these to put beside my toilet on each side and I’m very happy with my purchase also wanna add I had to reach out to the actual makers of the product for a missing part and the customer service was impeccable I didn’t even try with amazon bc they’d say just return it and buy another witch I didn’t want to do with such a minor problem glad I reached out to them first I highly recommend always reaching out to the actual manufacturer before contacting amazon ... show more
