I bought this air purifier when we were getting really heavy smoke from the Canadian wildfires. I always knew our indoor air wasn't the best because of my wife's smoking. I'm now seeing a vast improvement with the purifier and the monitor lets me know when to adjust the fan speeds. More often than not we have really good air quality inside of the house. This unit has 6 fans speeds and unless you are really close, you don't even know it's running. Super easy to install the filters and to set up the controls. It runs 24/7, super happy with the investment even though it was pretty expensive. I would recommend this to anyone who is looking at air purifiers. ... show more

First thing, surprises me how esthetically beautiful it is. I bought it originally for its medical health benefits and my husband's allergies. When I opened it looks like a piece of modern art! Although it is very high tech it is very easy to operate. It feels like BMW precision. Surprisingly it is very quiet. My husband does not snore anymore and I can actually sleep! The value supercedes the price! I am telling everyone I know! I am going to purchase a car purifier and another Atem X for my second home. Best find!!! ... show more

Including tax this was about $1450, but that is for a very large bedroom with vaulted ceilings, in both bedroom and bathroom of 611sq ft. HOWEVER, I consider this the BEST INVESTMENT I have ever made. It is so quiet, I never hear it at all, and I have it on 24/7. Got my ELECTRIC BILL a few days ago and hardly increased at all. I have been keeping my southern California Bedroom at 72 or 73 degrees at night. Personally, I hate being COLD. Anyways if you want an Excellent Air Purifier for any room in your house, they have them at several different prices, for smaller bedrooms, or living area's, but like I say, FOR ME PERSONALLY, the best investment I have ever made for myself, husband and our 4 cats who we share our home with. ... show more

Overall this is a fantastic top of the line unit. At full speed it’s a little loud but that’s to be expected. I don’t like that the led lights for the display stay on and flash since this is annoying in a dark room especially a bedroom but easy to cover them. The main issue is as far as I can tell they don’t sell the filters for this unit through Amazon so you have to buy them directly which isn’t convenient. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. I absolutely LOVE this air purification system! My place smells so much cleaner because of it. Because of this system, I suffer less from my bad allergies at home! I’ve used lots of other systems in the past, but NONE of them come close to this system. I only wish I had gotten the better one. I hear that MERV-14 is truly the BEST OF THE BEST.     • GREAT air filter to help remove musty basement odors & paint fumes

Filter came w/ broken caster wheel — seller replaced part right away. Painted basement and the whole area filled up with make you stupid fumes. Ran filter and it cleaned things up — the fume smells went away within hours. Not only did the paint fumes go away, the filter also got rid of the musty basement smell. So...i really really really wanted this to work. I have been through so many air purifier units i could write a book on them. I always wanted the IQ air but never had the money for one. When i finally did and got it, i was a bit disappointed . I will say i was happy that they fixed the smell problem people had had by sending the charcoal units separately and they were wrapped in a cellophane type material . When i first got the charcoal canisters they had this brown stuff on them that looked like dust and the charcoal was leaking out a bit .I think the sleeves you have to put on are just to keep the carbon dust in. Kinda lame. I looked at reviews and they said this was normal . So when i got the unit and put it together i went to open it to take the defuser off and put the charcoal canisters in . Those blue strips on the unit ( white on the healthpro plus ) you have to pop them off the housing using quite a bit of force. It shows this in the DVD you get with it. When you do this it feels like your going to break it . I didn't know you had to pry them even farther back to free up the fan and filter moduals in the unit until later. So i got the diffuser off and put the canisters in . It says you just fit the bottoms in the metal base and turn...you only turn them less than a half inch and they dont feel like they lock or seal. I looked on the canisters and there is no gasket or seal material??? Anyone that knows air purifiers knows they need to seal 100%. So that was flimsy . So after i got the canisters in and turned the unit on , the air coming out did seem a bit fresher . I think it was wishful thinking on my part though. After having it on for hours even in a small room it didn't make a big difference . Certainly not a $1,300 difference . For that money i want hospital operation room quality air . Not just remove some smells and fine particulate . Speaking of smells, i tested it by putting some Axe spray cologne on a cotton ball outside the room and put it in a plastic bag. I had another person come in the room and open the bag under the unit ( air intake ) while i smelled the output at the top - you could EASILY smell the cologne . Major fail . I tested this multiple times with the same result. I also later opened the unit fully up ( as shown on the dvd ) to look at the fan and other filter . The fan is housed in this styrofoam type material ( probably to reduce noise ) that seemed cheap to me. But the big issue is when you open it fully up to access the hepa filter , its like playing jenga . If you even slightly touch one of the arms or aren't delicate enough with the hepa filter , the arms fall back in place . This is highly annoying and a major design flaw . At that point i knew i didn't want it. One thing it did do is if you had it on all night in a 100 sq foot room, by morning, once you went outside the room all smells were way stronger ...so after 8-10 hours in a closed room it does eliminate all smells but it should to this for a 1200 sq foot room in a couple of hours and it doesn't. So im at a loss. I have bad allergies resulting from what is now world wide pollution . I am using carbon media filters in my home made and furnace filters ...it does ok but not what i need . Im coming to the conclusion that Air purifiers are snake oil salesmen type stuff . You need commercial grade to actually make a difference . Ill suffer until i find what really works. Thinking of making my own at this point . Again , this is a major disappointment. People that know me know i talked about getting this unit for a long time. Such a let down. ... show more
