So far, this thing is awesome! Before having an exhaust fan, I faced high temperatures and high humidity daily. After installing this, I’m in the perfect range of heat and humidity and it does a great job of filtering out the smell. Know that you won’t 100% get rid of the smell but it does much better than no filter at all.

After installation of the fan and filter I started the fan up, at first I noticed that the speed controller didn't vary the RPM of the fan at all, the fan was running for all of a minute or two as I tried to reduce the speed with the controller and I noticed a metallic burning smell, I quickly shut off the power but it was too late, the exhaust fan was visibly smoking and failed to start up again (and has every time subsequently). Let alone this being a huge fire hazard, I believe the product to be faulty. I followed the installation instructions to the T, the manual even recommends to leave the fan running for 30 minutes to test whether it will have issues with overheating, I think if I did this it would have burnt down my house. The one requirement and possible issue I wasn't able to test for in the set-up was 'insulation resistance', the instructions give no indication of how to test this or what is required to perform this, the instructions state this is only required if the product has been in storage for six months but where do I find this information? For a consumer product these instructions were particularly vague and seemingly required a level of expertise I wasn't expecting I would need when I bought this product. Buyers beware, this may be an affordable fan but it could cost you a lot more than you bargain for!

I purchased the ipower fan with filter kit last year for heat, humidity and odor reduction. Assembly and installation are straightforward and it has been doing the job for over a year now. The charcoal filter still removes odors all I have done is wash the pre filter sock. Just bought another one for a different grow tent. Very satisfied with this purchase!

This fan works great, I wasn’t sure if I needed a carbon filter but I’m glad I got one. It works very well. The hose that comes with it is really cheap, be careful if you need to cut it. It’s easy to tear. But everything else is good quality. I put mine on a humidity controller because at low speed 24/7 it was keeping my 4x8x8 tent humidity too low, it moves plenty of air. It is pretty quiet on low speed, I can’t hear it over the AC and grow light fans. But a couple extra 4” hose clamps if you don’t have any ducting for the exhaust side. I cut the provided hose in half and used one piece for filter to fan intake, and the other for exhaust. Just didn’t have enough hose clamps for that so I had to buy two more.

The directions for putting it together are terrible so I just used my skills and did it the way I felt would work. We use it for our 100 year old basement to take out the smell and a dehumidifier to take out moisture. After only working a hour the basement has no smell at all!!!!

I can only hear it when we leave the grow room door open for ventilation. Overall it's worth the money. Cant smell anything when the grow tent is all zipped up. I'd say its commercial grade for sure.

This set has all you need to get your tent vented. Fan is surprisingly quiet. Not a big fan of the 2 ratchet straps included for support though. Once installed at desired location there should be no reason to lift or lower & lighter durable belt straps are preferred as well as perhaps including 3… 2 for the filter, 1 for the fan. This swap out I made lost a star but you may very well be satisfied with the supports.

With the 190 cfm fan, the kit easily ventilates a 4' x 6' x 7' greenhouse. Whether or not you call the fan noisy is very subjective. Moving this much air through a 4" aperture makes a sound, and the fan motor is as quiet or more quiet than other electric motors I have heard of this size. It is not as noisy as my 110 cfm bathroom fan. Since the fan didn't smoke when I plugged it in, I have no reason to believe it will not last a long time. The filter filters as advertised. I am very pleased with the easy connection and setup of this kit and the apparent quality of its parts.
