I bought this device for a relative who would use it in Peru, according to its characteristics this item was completely unlocked. Before its purchase, I was looking for information about what kind of unlock had and I found 3 affirmative answers indicating global unlock (including my country). When my relative tried to use it over there this cellphone was locked by its carrier in the U.S. So we contacted Amazon Support, for some information about it and they recommended solving this issue with Apple Support directly or returning it (the phone is in Peru currently). We called Apple and after 45 minutes, they confirmed that the phone was locked by carrier but it could be used in U.S. only. They apologized because couldn't do anything else because it was Amazon's (or its dealer's) responsibility and they would be able to apply that unlock to be used abroad. I am expecting for the phone to return it immediately. I think the information is not complete or incorrect because I was looking for a good reference before its purchase and here we are. UPDATE 1: I've already returned the iphone. I am expecting for my refund. UPDATE 2: The refund was applied. Finally, I had to go to an Apple Store to buy a new one. Currently, it is working very well and I think after this experience, it is recommended to buy a new one directly. You may waste a lot of time in the whole process. ... show more

This premium renewed is my 2nd try. I went with a lower cost renewed phone and the previous one had unauthorized camera parts. I returned it because the camera was the reason I wanted to upgrade. This is actually my first review for anything from Amazon. I was super skeptical because of the reviews since they were all hit or miss, but went ahead and purchased. The phone itself arrived in perfect cosmetic condition - not a single scratch, chip, dent, etc. BUT, the battery life came at only 85%. And at 80% or less it's usually recommended you replace the battery, which is anywhere from another $90-130 for a phone I just paid $1000 for. Not to mention Amazon guarantees at least 90% battery life for the renewed premium. Not a huge deal in the long run, but slightly annoying nonetheless. Phone seems to be running well, no issues yet but will update if I run into any. For the price though I feel like I probably should have just bought a new one. ... show more
