I love this shelving unit! I bought it as an entryway display case of sorts for my bedroom. The product measurements were accurate and assembly with two people went very quickly. It comes with hardware to nail the back of the unit to your wall because otherwise it’s a bit wobbly. But I plan to remedy that with heavy books and decor on the bottom shelves. Bought this for my bedroom and was able to put it together on my own. One thing I will say is that it only has one support leg in the middle if you get the option with feet, and it makes it easier to knock down (I have a cat who likes to climb on things). It was an easy fix after I moved though, I simply took the legs off as well as the hardware they screwed into and it lays flat on the floor now like the option that comes without the feet. Super cute as pictured. Screwed our painted so they match, which is really nice. They even give you gloves so your hands don't hurt if you're using a screwdriver. The only downfall would be it's not super stable. Definitely needs to be against a wall and probably nailed to the wall, but that's not possible where I have it placed unfortunately so fingers crossed. ... show more

    • The 'Pear Yellow' Looks Like Maple Wood - Fantastic Shelves for the Price!
This is my sixth time buying these shelves, they are that good! A couple years ago I purchased the mint green and blue with the baseboard bottoms, but this review is for the 'pear yellow' with legs. Firstly, I'm not sure why it's called 'pear yellow' because the picture is accurate in showing a faux wood grain similar to maple. It looks fantastic! These shelves are incredibly easy to assemble and I have assembled them without any help. They only use a single kind of screw, the instructions are very easy, and when finished these shelves are wonderfully sturdy. Honestly, for the price, these shelves beat more expensive options from places like IKEA or other economy sellers. I was really impressed that now the maker is color dipping the tops of the screws so it matches the furniture (in the past the screw heads were hidden with little dot stickers that matched the furniture). I was really pleased with the legs - it will make vacuuming under them easy. If you're looking for some easy to assemble, pretty, sturdy shelves, do not hesitate to buy these! ... show more

Very nice, sturdy bookshelf! I was a little intimidated at first by all the pieces, but the assembly is simple and straightforward once you get going. The instructions recommended two people but I managed easily by myself - took about an hour or so. (An electric screwdriver would have definitely sped up the process.) Once I had it together, it looked great - nice, finished edges and it seemed very sturdy so defintely beats a lot of the cheaper assemble-it-yourself shelves I've put together over the years. It's quite a bit larger than I imagined - I had anticipated just putting it in a bedroom under a window but it was too tall, so it ended up out in the living room, but it's well made and nice looking enough that it doesn't look one bit out of place. Overall a great purchase - would defintely order again! ... show more

Honestly, I don't hate it. But it's cheap. It needs some weight to the item because it's wobbly and slides around. Yes, I should fasten it to the wall, but I don't want to put holes in the wall because we rent, and I don't want to patch a bunch of holes when we move out. I also don't have children at home, and the bookcase sits beside my desk. If they made just the board at the bottom out of a thick, heavier pressboard, it would be enough to add stability and stop it from sliding around. Then I'd be giving it 5 stars. But for the price, it looks nice and does work as intended—it provides a place for the books and binders I use for work instead of stacking them on my desk. It was easy to assemble. The instructions were clear. And it came with everything needed for assembly. So that's a win! ... show more

Really pleasantly surprised by this bookshelf. The packaging was excellent, the assembly instructions were clear and easy to understand, and all the pieces were well labeled. The screw heads being painted to match the color of the bookshelf was a nice touch. Assembly took about an hour, and the finished shelf is nicely sturdy and well proportioned.
