Had some unexpected guests show up that were staying for a few weeks due to a family member in the hospital. We bought this for them, to turn our computer room into a bedroom. The mattress does say the first time its inflated, and you sleep on it, when you wake, it will have less air in it.. and thats true. We pumped it up a second time and had to repeat this process for 3-4 days. But after that, it seemed fully inflated and held the air very well. As others have mentioned, the battery powered device (need to supply your own C batteries) supplied thats used to inflate this, allows you to fully inflate the bed 1 time. When you try to inflate it a second time, the batteries typically only have enough battery life to inflate the bed 75% of the way... which is unusable. Thats really terrible and forced me to buy a dedicated inflater, which dramatically increased the cost. Its possible that the batteries i used were sub-par, but it was tough finding C batteries, as many local stores do not sell them anymore. One other thing to mention. When you use this inside on hard surfaces, it does seem to make a lot of noise. So moving from side to side, getting on and getting off are much louder than you would ever expect. This isnt really a big deal if its just a single person, but if you have 2 people on it, the other person may get up to use the restroom in the night and its loud enough to wake you up. This mattress inflates and deflates easily with the pump. You just need to get batteries for it, otherwise good luck inflating it. My friends and family find it very comfortable to sleep on.

This Intex Dura-beam airbed is convenient and budget friendly. Reason for buying: spare bed for visitors and/or use for when traveling. PROS: (1-5; 1 low, 5 highest) • Softness level when laid on is rated 4, great! - it does not sank or felt stiff for the body, almost better than a regular mattress. • Smoothness level of the top surface is rated 4; it is made of velvet material and it keeps the sheets from moving or sliding. • Bed size & height is accurate, rate 5, sheets fits well and does not feel that its close to the ground when slept on. • Automatic Pump, rate 1, requires 6-C Batteries, it is sold separately, please buy ahead of time. • Price is average, rate 3. It goes higher if bought with automatic/manual pumps. CONS: • Deflates a little after days passes by. Note that this was sealed well and had no holes in it. • Not for every day use especially with pets or kids around. • Might not be ok for the back for long-term use. ... show more

I’m a big guy.. the Mrs. calls me a, “Linebacker” (but not fat lol) - at first, due to the price, I was worried about these remaining inflated while in use, but honestly the one we used (we purchased 3 for this trip) held up with no issues. The Mrs. and I were on one, two friends on another and our two kids on the 3rd. There are thicker mattresses out there, but I don’t see the need. A standard queen sheet fit these, and they are sturdy enough to keep me off the rocks. I actually slept well on this.. and this is from a guy who has a King Size Tempur-pedic mattress at home. I am pleasantly surprised how comfortable this is! It is not a high profile air mattress but supportive and does not make noises if you move around on it. I do wish the pump had an adapter with it. I did not use it as it needs batteries. Fingers crossed this lasts awhile.
