Lightweight, Comfortable, and Surprisingly Reliable for a Budget Air Mattress I picked up this Intex Dura-Beam Twin as a simple backup sleep option, and it ended up being a lot better than I expected for such a basic air bed. Inflation was quick with a small electric pump I already had, and the two-valve design makes both filling and deflating pretty stress-free. Once inflated, the mattress feels stable thanks to the Fiber-Tech interior — not bouncy or saggy like some older-style air beds. The velvety top also helps keep bedding in place and makes it more comfortable to lie on. One thing worth mentioning: on the first night, it does feel like it’s losing a bit of air, but that’s really just the material stretching out. After a quick top-off, it settled nicely and held air through the night. For camping or quick guest use, the height is low but manageable, and once deflated it folds down small enough to stash in a closet or toss in the car without taking up space. This is not a luxury mattress, and for long-term sleeping I’d want something thicker, but for an inexpensive, lightweight, grab-and-go option, it absolutely gets the job done. So far, so good. I haven’t used it for multiple night’s sleep yet, but the instructions were phenomenal and the extra yellow patch sticker for any potential holes was a good addition. The velvet texture is soft and reduces any sound of plastic when laying on the bed. The Full Size is great for one to two people. I have a small portable pump and it inflated the mattress perfectly. It’s a good product I think they last about one – two years before the material starts breaking down. Then it leaks. I use it as my main bed. I deflate it during the day to save space super comfortable for me really really comfortable. I’ve had a lot of beds and this thing is comfortable. I use it on a spring folding platform portable bed frame. I lay down on the bedframe where the springs are just to protect from punctures between the inflatable mattress and the metal bedframe. This model doesn’t have a threaded cap making it easy to release the air. You have to pull out a plug. It still holds. Air works fine. I deflate mine every day it was easier with the plug. Other than that I would recommend inflating it for two days then you can release the air. Don’t breathe the air coming out of it give it a chance to out gas cause it’s been folded up since manufacturing never released it’s vinyl gases. After that seems fine. Just don’t breathe the air coming out from inside that’s been sitting in there for a long time. Super happy it’s my second air mattress from this company. I’ll keep buying them they’re comfy. Almost hard to put a price on your quality of sleep when your whole life depends on sleeping you have any sleeping issues try this. Between races, he needs a place to truly rest and recharge, and this Intex twin-size mattress has delivered every time. It’s super easy to inflate (we use a small electric pump we already had), and the 10-inch height is just right—not too high, not too low. The surface is soft and supportive thanks to the Fiber-Tech construction, and it doesn’t sag like some other air mattresses we’ve tried. What we love most is how compact and lightweight it is—easy to pack up and throw in the car for travel. Despite being used outdoors and on hard gym floors, it’s held up great. These are comfortable and make a big difference when tent camping. The quality is good for the price.
