I have an old SONY reel to reel tape deck. I had it professionally serviced by a place that does a really good job of bringing old vintage audio equipment back to life. Well I got my Sony Reel to Reel Tape Deck back from the shop and all was good except for an annoying hum that made me sick indeed. The hum was just load enough to spoil my enjoyment of the tape deck. I was using those cheap red and white RCA plugs you get as original accessories with almost all new audio equipment. Only at the time I did not know these RCA plugs were cheap and no good. So I was suffering with the hum and almost took the Sony Tape Deck back to the shop to complain about the hum. Just so happens my brother had RCA cables of far better quality he asked me to try. Night & Day difference in quality was immediately heard by me as the hum was COMPLETELY GONE! So I actually needed cables longer than those my brother had so I ordered a bunch of these InstallGear 12ft Shielded 2 Male to 2 Male 2-Channel RCA Cables and they were awesome. No hum just clear clean music because; these are quality RCA cables. Yes the cables you use can make a huge difference in the quality of your audio and video experience. I learned it the hard way. I have Focal Kx2's on an Alpine PDR-f50 and an American Bass 12 on an Alpine MRV-m1200. I've done all premium, oxygen-free, 100% copper wiring. I tried using these cables because I thought they matched the quality of everything else I've done, at least from the description. Well, they don't. The fit of these plugs is extremely loose. My bass on a moderate setting rattled them right off. I tried prying open the split male plug with a thin mini-screwdriver and squeezing the outer portion of the plug, but no improvement. Also, I got a slight whine with these, and no noise is acceptable for my setup. I put a cheap cable from a $40 Walmart kit in its place and it fit snug, the sound quality is possibly better, and there is no whine. I swapped the back and same result as before. I swapped them again, and all good. I bought two sets of these also, and both were the same. The cables all followed the exact same path in the car. ... show more

These were very poorly made. I got these to finish up an install in my truck. I use my pair to connect my eq/preamp to my mids and highs amplifier. Before i was using high level inputs and it was wonky at best. After aboout 2 weeks the sheathings started to pull apart from the connectors exposing the inner wires. There isnt stress put on em, but because of my old truck and the other accesories i run, i get a interference in those lines at low volume. These were not insulated as advertised and very poorly made. after another few weeks i ended up lopping the ends off and remaking them. You are better off using the rcas that come in the box with a dvd player. The ends werent even glued into the sheathing. complete trash. ... show more

Reviewing the single FEMALE to TWO MALE adapter: I used one of these to convert the mono RCA-style subwoofer output on my aftermarket Android headunit to a dual RCA line with the longer RCA line that runs through the car connected from there and it works perfectly. This was the first receiver I had ever seen that used a single RCA output for the sub signal and didn't feel right about trying to run that into just the left or right line of the amp. Also, after reading though the manual for my JL Audio mono sub amp they recommend converting the single output to a dual by using one of these adapters when posed with that type of configuration so I would pass that on to anyone in the same boat. These did the trick and I like having an extra one for the connector drawer incase needed in the future (I hoard adapters like crazy :-)) ~gC ... show more

This cable was fine for a couple of months but then started picking up massive amounts of hum out of nowhere. I was using this to connect a keyboard to a Roland quad-capture at home, the cable was never moved or disturbed... it's pretty bad when a cable that is never even touched develops a short. I see a lot of reviewers saying they bought this for car amps, I would think twice given how much fun it is to pull a cable out of a car audio setup and replace it. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. Not exactly 12tf I had to measure it because is a habit I had making sure it the right measure but I got disappointed is not exactly the 12ft it say in the paper and I ordered 2 and still one is short than the other and are not 12ft

Thought first one was defective because as soon as I plugged it into my home theater subwoofer it began humming. I hadn't even plugged the other end into the received. When I did it still was humming. Returned and tried another assuming first was defective, same issue. Do not buy for a sub application. If for any reason you want to return an Amazon purchased Subwoofer enclosure, YOU the buyer will pay return shipping costs! My $100 enclosure will cost me $88 to return it!!!! It was not as described in listing and I'm not wanting it. Now what do I do with a cheaply made, bad sounding subwoofer enclosure? I think I'll make a cat playhouse from it! ... show more
