I was looking for a heavier gauge cable once I added an 1100W subwoofer system to my living room, and I didn't want to spend a ton of money on overly expensive cables. I thought I would give this one a try and I'm pretty impressed. The one thing I would note for others is that the rubber casing seems fairly thin on these. The upside is it's easy to strip the ends but it also means other objects can cut into the wire more easily when you don't want them to. But if you are mostly just running wire in a living room and not rolling up and packing down these cables regularly (like DJ'ing) in a hard use scenario, this will probably be just fine and gets you nice thick, pure copper cable that is heavy enough to carry serious wattage -- at a good price.

I picked this up years ago to use in guitar cabinets. It is real copper, supple, hard to damage, and heavy. I quite like it, and it has help up very well over the last 4 years. The only issue is that it is pretty thick so unless you have an EVM style terminal on a speaker, you have some issues with soldering to the speaker tabs. Great wire though.

I wish there was a 4.5 star. This is nice cable. Not wonderful cable. It has a good feel but I am concerned that the soft touch stuff may break down eventually as is usually the case with "tacktile" plastics. But that breakdown might be years away. It is easy to have the jackets split incorrectly when separating the pairs. So use caution and a sharp razor and go slow. Otherwise the jacket from one will split and leave chunks on the other. But this does appear to be solid copper strands which for this price is good. This replaced ~20year old Monster cable that I used w/o connectors. I don't really hear much difference but this cable with cheap banana plugs and extra shrink wrap look better and make for easier connecting. I would buy again.

I got excited as I began the job of remaking cables for my six Focal Super (sleepy) Bird speakers. I was not happy with the first wire I chose because of the mediocre quality, very brittle, neither did my birds, sing like they should, they sang like Barney Fife on the Addy Griffith show, now that is below terrible. However, this wire is without question the best cable I have ever used, that about 50 years. The wire is perfect when used with banana plugs or any cable making you may do of your own. It’s crazy, the wire is so soft I wanted to make a bed of it, to sleep in. But at the same time the wires in the cable are super strong and well wrapped to decrease resistance and increase speed! Check it with your ohm meter, as I did. I just get excited when I purchase a product of any kind which meets or in this case exceeds the makers description. Most of the time it’s a shot in the dark, if we are first buyers in line. Many sellers out there misrepresent their product in one way or another. I would recommend this product to the pickiest of the picky, I confess, I am one of the pickiest! Keep up the excellent work InstallGear, making this awesome cable. The cable absolutely makes a difference in sound quality. Use InstallGear Cable then hear and feel the difference, my birds did they are now truly flying like Super Birds and they sound fantastic too, I can hear the music now, yes cable makes a difference. Always keep the chain strong use the best wire, like InstallGear. InstallGear knows that or they would not have made this cable like they have, help produce the sound our ears and body can enjoy. I found this speaker wire more than adequate. Purchased the 12ga. Figured 12ga was good sizing since I built the speakers and know inside the cabinet 14ga was used between the crossovers and the drivers. Noticed when I stripped it with Made in USA Klein tool, I had to use the 10AWG position without cutting any copper strands. Not telling you it was 10ga, just forwarding my experience with it. It is fairly hefty and lays well with ample insulation. Had no issues connecting and securing the wire to banana plugs or speaker solid copper terminals connecting binding posts to support single-channel input to the speaker. Each speaker supports two channels. No complaints and wouldn't hesitate to re-purchase again. Speakers are capable of 350w, but I would never get to that level. My current gear has the capability of powering each speaker at 160w at 6ohm. I have not gone to that level either. As far a sound goes, I can't say it was an improvement or not as my speakers "Anthology speakers" were just completed when I used this speaker wire to connect them for the first time. Maybe it's just me, but I find sometimes folks can overkill speaker wire. I believe it really depends on the other three parts of the equation, quality/power of your amp or integrated amp; the quality of the speaker; and distance between source and speaker as well. If you have tons of money in quality gear, then perhaps it would make a difference paying $100+ speaker wire..Who am I to judge? I would say that I am on the lower end of audiophile spectrum.
