Cool camera - but I had some specific concerns for my style of using it
Style: Standalone
So, I know it's made more for action and such, but I thought it would be fun to give to a bride or in a cosplay convention, which is why I wanted it. My hope was that I could hand it to the bride or groom and have them have some fun with it. It works well, but it's not perfect for that. I like the build quality, it's easy to use, and a lot of times the video quality is great. It's definitely fun to mess around with the angles and zoom features like tiny world and ultra wide. Overall, I love the idea of the camera and will use it for certain situations. Battery life seems great, I've used it for a couple events so far, and it's been solid. I bought a backup battery, but haven't needed to change it out during an event yet. Granted, I'm mainly a photographer, so I do use it somewhat sparingly. But overall I'd say it lasted for a solid couple hours of shooting with no issues. The menus are easy to navigate, the touchscreen is responsive, and everything is durable on the unit. A couple of quick things that I noted (again, these are issues really just in the way that I use it, might not be an issue for someone else): 1) You have to use the Insta360 editor to basically set up the shots the way you want and then export them to the correct format to be used in something like Premiere Pro. Not unexpected, but if you think about the editing process, this doubles my time essentially, especially if I'm using clips from other sources which I normally do. If you're just using the insta software, it'll be fine, no worries... but when I have to pre-edit my edits.... it's just a bit of a drain on my resources. (And this isn't really the fault of the device so much as it's just mildly frustrating for the way I plan to use it). 2) I noticed in some of my clips, a weird 'banding' effect (blur really) in certain situations. It made the footage unusable, and the worst part is I'm not sure where it came from. It's possible that it's not the fault of the device, but the lenses were clean and clear, unobstructed. These are the only things that were an issue for me, and I'm sure that's being super particular and is unique to what I wanted to use it for. I still think it's a pretty awesome device and will allow me to create some cool shots for my uses. For this 'review' I'm giving it 5 stars, but for me personally, It might be more like 4.4 stars because of my intended use. I battled back and forth over this or GoPro, and decided to try this as something different since I've used GoPros for a long time. Maybe I just need to do more experimenting. ... show more

Great 360 Camera with Amazing Features
Style: Standalone
I’ve been using the Insta360 X4 for a while now, and overall it’s a great 360° camera with impressive features. The 8K 360 video quality is excellent for capturing immersive footage, and the ability to reframe shots later is a huge advantage, especially for travel and action videos. The stabilization is very good, even when moving fast, and the Invisible Selfie Stick effect works really well, making videos look professional and smooth. The mobile app is easy to use and offers plenty of editing options, even for beginners. ... show more

Capture Every Angle
Style: Standalone
After extensively using the Insta360 X4 360 camera, I can confidently say that it's a fantastic tool for capturing immersive and dynamic content. Here's why I rate it 4 out of 5 stars: Exceptional Image Quality: The Insta360 X4 delivers stunning image quality, capturing every detail with clarity and precision. Whether I'm shooting photos or videos, the camera consistently produces sharp, vibrant images that exceed my expectations. The 360-degree field of view ensures that nothing is missed, allowing me to relive moments from every angle. Intuitive Controls and User-Friendly Interface: One of the standout features of the Insta360 X4 is its user-friendly interface and intuitive controls. Navigating through the various shooting modes and settings is a breeze, thanks to the well-designed companion app. I appreciate how easy it is to adjust exposure, white balance, and other parameters on the fly, ensuring that I always capture the perfect shot. Stabilization Technology: With built-in stabilization technology, the Insta360 X4 ensures smooth and steady footage even in challenging shooting conditions. Whether I'm walking, running, or capturing fast-paced action, the camera effectively reduces shake and jitter, resulting in professional-quality videos that are a joy to watch. Versatile Shooting Modes: The Insta360 X4 offers a wide range of shooting modes and creative features, allowing me to unleash my creativity and capture unique perspectives. From time-lapse and hyperlapse to bullet time and clone shot, there's no shortage of creative possibilities with this camera. I particularly enjoy experimenting with the different modes to create engaging and visually stunning content. While the Insta360 X4 is undoubtedly a top-notch 360 camera, there are a few areas where it could improve to reach perfection. Firstly, the battery life could be better, as I find myself needing to recharge frequently, especially during extended shooting sessions. Additionally, while the stabilization technology is impressive, it could be even more effective in reducing motion blur in low-light conditions. Overall, the Insta360 X4 is an excellent choice for anyone looking to explore the world of 360-degree photography and videography. With its exceptional image quality, user-friendly interface, stabilization technology, and versatile shooting modes, it's a powerful tool that unlocks endless creative possibilities. I highly recommend it to both enthusiasts and professionals alike. ... show more
