Found much more plastic in this item than I thought there would be (the bottom half is all plastic, while the platter is solid aluminum); but it probably makes for a very smooth rotation of the turntable, without the noise from metal ball bearings . We’ll see how long the mechanism lasts before the plastic bearings wear out. Because the turntable did not spin well when I unboxed it, I did discover that there is a main axis screw underneath the stand that can be loosened slightly to let the turntable spin very, very freely; though, the platter will wobble if the screw is loosened too much. It’s not very adjustable, so I am going to use some Loctite on the screw threads to keep the tension precisely where I want it. Of course, there is also the handy exterior thumbscrew that can lock the turntable in place, allow it to spin freely like a 33-1/3 record (Okay; showing my age), or anything in between. Very handy. It’s something that most other cake turntables do not have as a feature. It rotates smoothly, is sturdy and stable on the countertop (due to its removable silicone base cover), not too heavy, and seems easy to clean, but it’s a bit pricey compared to other well-rated turntables. Time will tell if this is a great buy or just a good one.

Love this cake turner! It spins very smoothly and is great for cake decorating. The base has silicone so it is non-slip, and is heavy enough to support large cakes. You can also purchase a cake extender separately for wider based cakes. I love that the turner can be locked or unlocked. It is very easy to clean, and has a good height for decorating. Would highly recommend!

This turntable just came. I could not wait to review until after I used it. It is so pretty. It is as solid as can be. I know, without question, that it will do it’s Job. Turns beautifully. Even the packaging is superior( box has carrying handle). Treat yourself & purchase the Artist’s Turntable, It will make your Decorating Life! Trust me on this. I will buy from this Company again. LOVE this turntable!!!! So sturdy and spins freely! I love the fact that it adjusts in spin speed! I had hoped the non skid part of the turntable was attached. It has a tendency to slip away. I wished the extender came with it for the price, but overall I am happy with it!!

I have a lot of turn tables and this is the best one I own. Not too tall so you can sit and decorate. Smooth turning and has a key so you can either slow it down or lock the turntable in place which is extremely helpful when your doing intricate piping. Not to mention its not overly heavy like some of my turntables are. The quality of this turntable seemed flimsy compared to another (less expensive) turntable. I only ordered it because it had a brake and I was frustrated with my other turntable constantly spinning. I couldn’t justify the purchase price and the quality, so I returned it. Original turntable problem has been fixed.

Great product! I bought this for my girlfriend and he loves it. Having the brake is a must have feature. With the brake off it turns smooth and easy. But you can adjust the brake so the table turns but not to quickly. In other words better control of the table.
