It looks great and feels sturdy for what I need. But if you are not familiar with using dry wall anchors or even a drill, this might not be the easiest thing to install, especially if you're trying to do it yourself. The instructions are quite scant, so I had to do some research to even get started. Here are some tips I think some might find helpful: 1. You absolutely need to drill the correct size holes into your wall before pushing in the plastic drywall anchors that the kit comes with. I used a 1/4in size drill bit to drill the four holes required for each mounting disk, and then pushed the anchors into the wall without too much force. Before this, I made the mistake of drilling a hole that was too small, and when the anchor wouldn't fit I tried hammering it in....BAD IDEA. These anchors are cheap and will warp and bend if you hammer them and you could potentially mess up your dry wall in the process. So drill holes that are just the right size where you can push the anchors in with your hands, and get them flush with the wall. 2. If you're doing the install yourself, once you have the first bracket installed hold the other bracket up onto the wall, and then place a plank on the bottom rung. This came in all one box and it was SO HEAVY, the mailman asked if he could help carry it inside for me :P Also, all the individual pipes were packaged with a LOT of clear shipping tape so I had to spend quite some time cutting through it all with scissors, but really not a big deal. I'm just glad it was packaged well to prevent shipping damage. I did notice (as I also noticed in some people's reviews) that a few of the pipes were pretty rusty on the ends where you screw them in together. I thought this was odd, but a lot of it could just be brushed off with a paper towel. I resorted to describe it as something that added to the weathered "charm" (lol) and so far, after putting it all together and having LOTS of pantry items on it, it's held up wonderfully. It seems beyond stable and the wood is authentic and absolutely beautiful. My boyfriend was floored when he came in and saw that I had put it up by myself in only a couple hours. The directions it comes with are literally 2 pictures, but that's really all you need because it's pretty self explanatory. No crazy hardware or fiddly bits so it makes for a quick job with just a simple power drill. ... show more

This was the best deal I found for plumbing style shelves. I love that you can order 2, 3, or 4 shelf versions, and it is really sturdy!! As far as assembly goes, it is tricky to get all the connection pipes pointing in the same direction. I think there were two that we could not tighten all the way or they would not line up as needed, but after screwing the thing into the wall it is not an issue. One nice thing is that the drywall anchors needed are included--a happy surprise! We were able to screw most of ours into wall studs, and it is not coming down! I will say that I would never have been able to put this up alone. To level it, mark it, and hold it requires two people, but other than that, my handy husband had it up in 30 minutes tops. The shelves look great and was reasonably price. The wood and metal pipes are sturdy enough. The big problem is the lack of points that the pieces are connected. The two middle pipes are basically just floating and don’t screw into the wall. The shelves themselves are also completely loose!!! You’re meant to just place them on top of the pipes, so one gentle hit and everything comes crashing down! We ended up screwing little holes ourselves to connect the wood and metal, as it was just too precarious otherwise. All in all, looks great but I would have paid more money and gone for a more sturdy product. ... show more

Pretty easy to install. Didn’t take me long at all. They didn’t have the color I wanted in stock so I ended up choosing this one because it was 30inches. I spray painted the bars gold. We used a drill to install it to my wall. Got a lot of positive comments on it. There is one con. When you’re screwing pieces of the bars/pipes together, it gets very tight to where you cant screw the piece any further to line up with the other ends. Leaving the piece you needed to attach sticking out off to a different direction. I eventually figured out a method to fix it where I laid the bar/pipes down and the piece that was sticking up, I just had to put some weight on it and force it down. That was so much easier than trying to screw the pipe in any further by hand. This could’ve just be a problem with mine. Also, I just wanted to note that the four center bars that don’t mount on the wall are just slightly shorter than the top and bottom bars. That might be a problem for people but I didn’t mind it. I think it could be helpful if you want to place a gaming console on there or something that has a wire so you could slip it through behind the shelf. ... show more

This is a really nice shelf and a great value for the price. It was easy to assemble and install. I did it by myself in under an hour (that’s including the time it took me to realize that I mounted it upside down and to correct that). I mounted this on my window for my plants, and I think they will be very happy. The iron has a nice distressed finish to it. I wasn’t expecting this after reading a few reviews, but it came with hardware to stabilize the shelves to the fixture (pictured). There are a lot of reviews that talk about how the shelves aren’t stable or are free floating but this was not the case with the shelves I received. Overall very satisfied. ... show more

These worked perfectly for our basement kitchenette. They were not fun to install - patience is a must. They are sturdy, easy to work around in placing the shelves and items on the shelves - just getting the flanges lined up with the studs was the challenge... great team building exercise with the hubs though lol.
