Description

Use the power of your shop's dust collection system to grab sawdust where it's produced on your router table. The CleanSweep cabinet attaches to the underside of laminated MDF or phenolic router tables from INCRA, Woodpeckers, JessEm and many others (see compatibility notes below). The vacuum generated inside the cabinet by your 4" dust collection hose pulls chips and fine dust downward past the router bit, keeping the table surface and your surrounding shop cleaner than you'd ever imagined. The effect is even more powerful when combined with INCRA CleanSweep Rings for MagnaLOCK router plates and router lifts. Unlike a dust port mounted on the fence, the CleanSweep cabinet works for every cut and not just when the fence is covering the router bit, giving you excellent collection even when routing grooves, making box joints & dovetails, or shaping curved edges without a fence. This must-have accessory is one of the easiest ways to improve the quality of your router table time. Compatibility notes for common router table types: The CleanSweep cabinet screws directly to the underside of laminated MDF and phenolic router tables that have their bottom table opening and related hardware within the CleanSweep's 9-1/8" x 12-3/4" inside dimensions. Kreg, Woodhaven and laminated MDF tables from JessEm require the CleanSweep Table Adapter to clear the bottom-mounted leveling mechanism used at their table openings' corners. The CleanSweep cabinet is not directly compatible with router tables that use remotely-operated router lifts.

  • Works well, but could use some improvements...
I bought this to bolt to the underside of my shop-built router table, which is the outfeed table for my table saw. I can confirm that the size of this box is large enough to be compatible with my INCRA PRL-V2 Router Lift, which has a plate size of 9¼ x 11¾, and some adjustment screws near the edges. The inside top of the dust collector box is just a bit larger than the plate size, so there is no problem with adjustment screws, and no need for the optional adapter. It is likely that if your router plate is this size or smaller that this dust box will be compatible, depending on how your router plate is installed and adjusted. Mine is a simple dadoe to create a lip into which the router plate just fits. I had done a LOT of routing of slots, and it produced inches of sawdust on my floor, not to mention a lot going into my lungs. I had more to do, so I decided to buy this box. I had been putting off building one of my own - a very reasonable alternative - but I was anxious to get the big project done, so I bought a quick solution. In terms of collecting dust, it does everything I need: depending on the operation, very little dust goes anywhere but into the dust collector. The dust box installs easily if you can remove your router table top and flip it upside down. Even easier if your router top is thicker than 3/4" (mine uses two sheets of 3/4 MDF glued together, laminated with countertop laminate). It did not take long. The most difficult and time-consuming part was disassembling my table then reinstalling it, not attaching the DC box. My main disappointment with this unit is the placement of the 4" dust port: straight down. It's fine if you have one permanently set up with a clamp, but in my small shop, I have to move the hose around. The ideal would have been a panel at a 45 degree angle, pointing towards the floor on the back side. Second, a very common way of using a router involves dust collection at the fence, typically with a 2.5" hose. If this DC box had a 2.5" port on the back, with a cap to seal it when not in use, it would be very easy to run a hose from the DC box to the fence port. Last, a gate to allow a variable amount of air to "leak" in to avoid putting too big a strain on the dust collector would be appropriate. I see that feature on other DC boxes. Aside from these wishlist items, it's a good unit, just not worth "I love it" five stars. ... show more

  • What a product!
When I opened the box I could see this was a quality product. The two-piece plastic body is nested together; the steel side panels were wrapped in paper; and the hardware was packaged in three plastic bags, numbered and referenced in the instructions. Color instructions, too! I made a wooden framed adapter to fit the Cleansweep on my Bosch cast aluminum router table, which acts an an extension wing on a Craftsman 1980s vintage saw. No need for the dust port on the router fence, as the Cleansweep takes all dust by itself. What a product! ... show more

  • No Dust...WHATSOEVER
I debated over making a dust collection cabinet versus buying this one. Ultimately, I decided I had too many smaller projects on the back burner and opted to spend a few bucks versus a few hours. Installation of this cabinet is about as easy as it gets. All of the components are solid, including the plastic (although a few of the nuts needed to be braced when tightening the cabinet bolts...no big deal). I have a PC 7518 set in a Jessem Master R Lift II, and there is plenty of space inside the box for this setup, although accessing the switches is not something I would want to do regularly. So, now is the time to think about a wired switch as well. To avoid having to dismount my table (yes, you will have to spend some time in a few awkward positions), I simply used double sided tape to position the cabinet and mark the screw holes. Be sure to mark the holes to leave some room for cabinet adjustment later if needed. I also use an Incra fence with dust collection in conjunction with this cabinet. Bottom line...NO DUST...AT ALL! I couldn't believe it. And, my dust collector is the 1 1/2 hp bag type (yeah, that's the next upgrade!). I was very impressed. Now, the few things that I didn't like. My current router table is mounted to the left of my table saw, and my LS fence is in shared use. When the clean sweep box was installed, I noticed that it interferes with access to my table saw motor compartment. Not horrible, but it I can't fully open the table saw compartment door. I woudl have to remove the clean sweep box first (not huge, but it might create bigger conficts for others). Also, when the dust collection is on, accessing the router is more difficult as the negative pressure inside the cabinet tends to suck the clean sweep door pretty tight. And, you don't really want to run a router with the door closed for too long. So, once again, a switch to control the router would be a good idea. You can "pry" the door open with the suction, but in an emergency...probably not a good practice. Would love to know if the homemade boxes are just as good. But, don't regret spending a few bucks on this model. Incra stuff always seems to perform flawlessly IMHO. ... show more

  • Top of the line dust collector
I'm a fan. I typically do a lot of reviews of specs, reviews, etc. and find someone knowledgeable when it comes to tools. Buy once right, and you will not have to buy again. I didn't do that this time since there does not seem to be any comparable product. Also, I've been finding that Incra seems to have a penchant for quality. They come out on top. Interestingly, when they don't have the best product on the market, they seem to either license or buy the best product. Anyway, not a comparable product, at least as far as I could find. Yes, there are sheet metal options for router lift dust collectors, but I'm a big fan of quiet, and sheet metal tends to amplify noise. As I suspected this polymer solution definitely cut down on the noise, far more than I expected. so that is Nice. Nice design. Smaller than it looks in the photo [not that you can tell, but I expected something larger]. So the fairly large router/lift fits snugly, which I like. I don't normally give a 5 rating, because almost nothing has zero room for improvement. For me, it could be even smaller, and both sides could be accessible. This is expensive, and it is also very much worth it, if you want something you will never regret, and never feel the need to replace with something better. Once again, hats off to Incra. ... show more
