Great heft on the hammer. Chistles are solid, and larger than expected, but that isnt an issue. The Bag is what shocked me a bit, it is much better quality than I expected, very thick sturdy canvas, I can see this bag lasting for many years to come. All in all, Great kit for the price. But as others have said, the gloves are clearly ment for either a child or a woman with very small hands. I am a guy with fairly small hands and they are even to small for me. Lucky for me I did not buy the kit for the gloves. Jewelers Loupe is nice and seems very well made with its own nice lil case. All in all if you are a new rockhound or even a vet rock hound looking for a new kit, I would highly reccommend this for the price point its at.

Bent the tip of the hammer hitting a rock, chipped a chisel. It works well for how much I paid. The safety goggles are garbage, they work, but not for this application they are meant for using power tools or something, not outside sweating and beating on rocks. The bag is the best part very sturdy. I am happy with my purchase, but if I were into rock hounding I'd of spent a lot more money, bought specifically for breaking rocks to find flint/chert and it works for that.

nephew loved this as a Christmas gift and tools held up well to an afternoon of rockhounding (mostly limestone and dolomite). One complain only: the goggles are bit cloudy, had to take them off to do any looking around

I got this for my nephew, because he likes rocks (and as a geologist, I like to foster that habit!). This turned out to be a great kit. The rock hammer is hefty and good quality, as are the chisels. The goggles are pretty cheap and low quality, but the tools are great. The bag is kind of cheap but has plenty of pockets and space for your cool finds. This was a good purchase; I'd recommend it for little explorers or beginners interested in rock hunting as a hobby, as the chisels and rock hammer are worth buying the whole kit for.

I bought this as a gift for my son. We have gone to collect many rocks at various locations with the excitement of cracking them open. I do recommend ear protection which doesn’t come with the kit. The tools, goggles, magnifying glass, it’s all great!
