Let me start by saying I’ve been trying to find the right heat sealer for my pyramid tea bags. The material is very thin so too much heat burns the bag. This heat sealer was perfect. I set the dial right around 4 or close to. Hold down for maybe 3 seconds and done. The indicator light goes off when it’s done fyi. I have a large order to fill and so far I’ve made it through 100 bags. It didn’t over heat or get hot. I gave it a break by unplugging it. There is no on/off switch so be mindful. When you plug it in it’s ready to go. No wait time and easy. If you’re using this for sealing mylar bags the same temp works. No adjustment needed. Lastly for the price this worked well out the gate.

Double check all the connections. The instructions tell you what to check if it doesn't work and mine didn't so this must be an ongoing issue. Once we fixed the connections, it works fine. The red light does not come on until you press the handle, so you don't know when it's hot. It does heat up very fast and works good. It's made of plastic and light weight.

We sell packages of dried tea at our local farmers market. What I need is a product that will seal both the individual paper tea bags and the larger mylar bags those tea bags are packed in. I've been using a mini iron, but I was hoping for something that could be used more quickly and safely. Unfortunately, this wasn't it. It works beautifully on the mylar, don't get me wrong. I put the bag in, closed it down, and within seconds the bag was completely sealed. It just made a mess of the paper tea bags, though. I can't blame the product for that because it isn't marketed for sealing paper. The reason for only giving 3 stars is because the casing is kind of flimsy plastic and the instructions say to only use it for less than 10 minutes at a time. I guess that's fine for everyday home use, but it sure doesn't work for our light commercial needs. I want something I can use for 2-3 hours at a stretch. So, I'm giving 3 stars because it's an average product at a reasonable price - definitely not bad, but not spectacular, either.
