I have a huge (yet, empty) head, and the size L fits snugly. This is a great modular helmet for the money. Be advised the toggle sun visor isn't tinted very dark, you may want to put on your regular sun glasses after putting on this helmet, but to some people it may be adequate. The anti-fog insert it comes with works surprisingly well, but isn't perfect (you will never find any vision protection that is truly fog-proof though). My head has stayed pretty cool on the warmer days, and on the colder ones my head has been warm enough. Can't go wrong for $120. ... show more

Let me start by saying I purchased this helmet to wear while riding my electric unicycle. This helmet weighs exactly 4lbs 2oz on my table scale. It fits a bit snug out of the box, but this is to be expected for a new appropriately sized helmet. Feels like it's starting to break in after two weeks of use so far. This is my first modular helmet and I really enjoy that feature. I also like the tinted drop down visor. I appreciated that it also came with a second clear visor, which was unexpected. The anti fog system was easy to install and seems to work fairly well. If it's really cold outside and/or the humidity is high, you may experience condensation build up on the visor that may obstruct your vision. Cracking the visor a small bit eliminates this problem when it occurs and it has only happened to me while riding below freezing temps. I have experienced a small rattle inside of the helmet if I hit large bumps in the road, but this rarely happens and is of little concern to me. I was afraid that the canopy on top of the helmet might cause a significant amount of drag, but honestly I have experienced virtually none whatsoever. Keep in might I haven't gone over 35mph but I have ridden against 30mph gusts without any issue. The built in vents are okay but I feel like they could stand to let more air in with a better design. It's hard to have an opinion on ventilation until hotter weather comes back. All in all I think this is a really good helmet so far. I'm pretty sure this is a close knock off of the Scorpion Exo-at950 which cost more than twice the price of this helmet ($270 vs $120 for this helmet). This helmet is only 2oz heavier and comes with a quick release chin strap. I was originally looking at that scorpion helmet, but I refuse to pay that much for a helmet that insists on using old D-ring style straps. Overall, I would definitely buy this helmet again. First off, my "complaints" about this helmet I have also seen in $300-$600 helmets, so I hesitate to make too big a deal of them. In fact, I have become so disillusioned with mid-range adventure helmets, I bought this helmet because I figured "if I have to deal with it, I may as well get a deal." This is an insanely feature-packed helmet. Retractable sun shield, quick release chinstrap, locking modular unit- I found many higher end helmets that were missing these. My first "complaint" about this helmet was the shell size (I wear a large, and I am pretty sure they only have two shell sizes, so mine was into "bobble-head" territory). In fairness, this is nit-picking from someone that wears his helmet 10k miles/year. Also, I had to return a $400 Nolan helmet for the same reason. 3+ shell sizes tends to be the exclusive domain of premium brands. It's not so much a complaint, but rather a reason it's not perfect. The second issue would be buffeting. This is tough since buffeting is so variable depending on bike, rider, wind, speed, etc. The buffeting for me started about 45mph, but was bearable all the way up to highway speeds. I'd note that it was infinitely better than the buffeting in the Scorpion AT950 I also tried. The AT950 might have shaken some teeth loose. If the shell size fits you a bit better and your bike or height minimizes the buffeting, prepare for a perfect helmet! Regardless, it is an amazing helmet for the price. I will gladly use it regularly and just remind myself of the price anytime I feel like complaining. ... show more

dot rating is garbage. this helmet holds a dot rating and none of the safer standards. Comes with an abs shell. ABS is the most dangerous of shell materials, tending to shatter. This helmet is a cheaper version of one made by nolan or the scorpion AT-950, Those helmets are twice as much the nolan being around $500 but alot safer. With the peak facing front its alot of resistance and wind at highway speed so this is my short trip non highway helmet. I normally wear X-Large (61-61CM) based on past THREE helmets from other manufacturers (Harley D & Bell). I checked the delivery date a few days ago after ordering and saw that I had ordered XXL. Started freaking that I ordered the wrong size but reading other reviews as well as manufacturer's note about sizing up was hopeful that I wouldn't have to return (they are out of X-large white). Well, I just received the ‎FBA-909F-MB-XXL and performed the helmet fit test and so glad I ordered (even if by mistake) the XXL. Interesting though that the ILM Motorcycle Helmet size chart doesn't even have a XXL. Size up! Now for the road test. 5 stars for now... 4/19/2022 Update: Two long rides with this helmet. Still 5 stars. One minor negative is that when the top front vents are closed, they rattle which you can hear. Another reviewer also noted this. Easy fix was to add a piece of velcro soft side to the lips of the vents which eliminates any movement (rattle) when closed. Prefer closed as it also reduces the wind noise more which is not that bad to begin with. Bluetooth: Tried installing https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07XSMT1MJ?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details but the speakers stuck out too much inside the helmet as there wasn't enough recess inside the helmet. Will continue to look around for BT that might work with this helmet. Also, just ordered spare visor and Pinlock 30 for a good price from ILM. I've done this for past helmets and it's paid off (you never know). ... show more
