I recently moved into a new office cubicle that unfortunately has a super bright overhead light. I researched online and could only find cube shields that mounted to the corner of cube walls. But since this light is directly overhead, that type of shield would do me no good. Then I stumbled on this beauty. Its well made, sturdy, and big enough to overhang my workspace creating a nice diffused light. No more computer glare! Putting it together was super simple, but mounting it to my cube wall was a bit of a challenge. It took a little ingenuity (and some binder clips and wire cubicle pins) to get it in place. I first found this item on the Ikea website for around $15 bucks, but they were also asking $15 for shipping. I bought it using my Amazon prime and received it in two days! I didn't buy this for a room, but for my cubicle at work. The lights shine directly into my eyes and it's been giving me headaches. Other employees have shades over their desks, so I started my search. I found that this is even better than what most others use. Everyone else has a blade shade and it makes their cubicle really dark. I don't mind the dark, but I do need to be able to see what I'm doing. Not on the computer, but for other aspects of my job. Got this for my office cubicle as many people have them at my work. It was easy to assemble, lightweight and effective! I like the green hue it gives the light, makes my desk more cozy. Only negative is that you have to mcgyver the mount. I can't mount it to any drywall so my dad got this jacket hanger thing and drilled the original mount onto it. Works like a charm. Works great to minimize those bright office lights. It is rough not having natural sunlight in the office but this will at-least give a temporary relief.

My cubicle is right under a very bright light. Working on a computer all day, it was starting to strain my eyes. I had seen it at IKEA before in the kids section, and had seen them in cubicles in other areas (more for decoration). I ordered it with the sole purpose of blocking the light. After looking around at cubie tents and the possibility of putting up an umbrella (bad luck - eeek) - I decided to give this a try. The price was right - and it is festive. Being from IKEA, it was compact (so easy to bring into work) and it was easy to put together. It is the perfect size to block the light above. The mount that it came with did not work with my cubicle walls (since it is supposed to screw into the wall) - so I had to be a bit creative to put it up. I ended up sliding it down between the cubicle wall and my dry erase board, which seems sturdy enough for now! Not only does it do the trick, but it is also a bit of a conversation starter. Wow instruction weren’t clear where the rods go in. I ended up thinking that the entry holes had been sewn shut. It wasn’t until later I found a slit along the main stitching.
