There is a local billiard equipment deal that takes in broken “house” cues, effects some sort of repair on them, and sells them for $15 (those without a joint) to $25 (those with a joint). You need to spend hours looking through them to find one or two that are serviceable. And you comb through a lot of close to unbelievable junk (be cautious of anything with a beer logo on it). I have seen a lot of techniques to hide “mystery wood” on a stick. I purchased this set of cues based on the premise of “how bad can they be” since the cost approximated that of the billiard shop of horrors. Very pleasantly surprised. All were dead straight, competently and honestly constructed, and handsome. The leather tip end on one of them was dressed by an apprentice. But even on that one the radius was correct and likely could be played by a beginner without any ball deflection. I corrected it, largely because I could. I could play this cue at any senior centre in the country and not evoke pity or scorn. Likely a lot of envy.

I recently bought a pool table because my grandson wants to learn how to play. I have never played pool, but my husband has. I ordered these because you get 18, 19. 20 and 21 ounce 58-inch long pool sticks, and the tips are finished at 13 mm. The four different sizes are great for a beginner who has to decide which type of pool stick is best for them. These Canadian Maple wood billiard sticks are well made. They look expensive, I have some old, no-name brand pool sticks that I didn’t realize looked so cheap and rough until I compared them to these four sticks. My husband said these are nicely balanced and easy to hold and use. Also included were two gloves and chalk. We won’t use the gloves, but the chalk works great. My husband said these are excellent pool sticks and the price is excellent.

Impressive pool cue set. The pool cues are well balanced with a good feel. The kit comes with 4 cues weighted 18-21oz, a pool cue glove and some tip chalks. Not bad for the price. Used the 21oz to break a few times and it handled it with ease.

My house cues are a random lot but today that changed with these new ones I'll admit I didn't expect a 4 pack of cue sticks to be perfect .... but these are close The design and color are very nice and way better than the old house sticks I currently have Build quality seems great with easy assembly and comfort with a real nice "weight" to them which I prefer Every one of them couldn't be straighter as well Super value for the price and now I have excellent replacements for the old guys on the rack - it was time !

These Canadian Maple, 18-21 oz. two-piece cues by IIQ are a definite step up from my “house cues” and darn if they don’t give my traveling stick a run for its money. I’m told Canadian Maple, or North American Hard Maple (Acer saccharum), is the “gold standard” for pool cue shafts: stiffer than Ash, lighter than Rosewood, and more consistent as to quality than Oak. I don’t know about any of that, only that they’re smooth, solid, balanced and nice looking. On my cue rack now hangs a selection from 15-21oz., enough to accommodate everyone from (the late) Hervé Villechaize to Hulk Hogan.

Picked these up because the house sticks at my local dive are terrible. These were at least straight. LOL No, seriously, for the casual/novice these are great. You get a variety of sizes and can learn what suits you best.

The advertisement for this set of Pool Cues is accurate, so I will not repeat it here. I am not a Pool Shark, but I am absolutely Amazed at the Wood, The Decals and the Craftsmanship.
